Hello everyone; I worked on this UTY / Undertale Yellow update. I'd like it if you took some time out of your day to read what I had to say on it. Thank you all.

Hi everyone; if you've followed me for the past few months, I've mentionned a project I couldn't really talk about a few times. Well, this is it!

If it's okay with everyone, I'd like to ramble a bit about my involvement in it, my thoughts, etc.

I was made aware of the situation a bit after others, as I was dealing with complicated family "news" around the time. When I was later contacted and made aware of what was going on as well as the plan to patch the game, I immediately accepted to work on this along with everyone else.

I feel as this patch was a labour of love, as we tried making things as best/right and respectful as we could. Replacing major character sprites while trying to make them feel as right as possible is quite an undertaking, and I personally feel like we succeeded. Just to give an example, Dalv had around 7 revisions until we landed on something we all agreed felt "right" (you can see them in the third image of this post), and every pixelartist worked on those base sprites.

On a different note, if you already follow me, you're probably aware I was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm back in March of this year.

I knew that I had a cAVM since 2023 (cerbral Arterioveinous Malformation), and the aneurysm has developped since my last MRI 3 years ago. It was extremely heavy news at the time (I'm doing much better now), but thankfully, there were plans to treat it. And so, I got an embolization appointment scheduled for late May.

I was apprehending it quite a lot and even if it was pretty safe, I started preparing things: I wrote a brief will, I made a post over here on Bluesky authorizing the use of my (pixel)art in the event of my death and... I continued my work on this update. Basically, there was a point of time where I thought this could be my very last work and that it'd only be posted posthumously. I'm pretty sure I was posting progress/aseprite files right up until my hospital stay because I wanted, even if I were to be gone, to help making this patch a reality.

In the end, the embolization attempt was aborted as it was too dangerous (I would have at least lost half of my eyesight). But, I'm still here, aren't I? And I plan to be for a while longer.
