This body is weak and damaged and has already proved itself defective, confessing enough to her in the heat of fever that she knows - well, he isn't entirely sure what she knows. Likely not all of it. Certainly too much.
Eregion is still two days' ride away. She says she still intends to take him there although now it seems as her prisoner. Whatever it was he can't remember saying to her by that campfire last night has condemned him.
He does remember weakness:
the pain as she'd rebandaged the wound in his side, how he'd been shivering even with the heat of the campfire she'd earlier said they didn't have time for.”

She presses her eyes closed, a little too long. She doesn't answer.
She pulls the rope tight against his wrists.

tight. I'm not as strong as you, elf."
She does not dispute that, which is a good sign, but nor does she loosen the rope.
"I don't trust
you. And what you said matters less than your saying it in Quenya." Ah, well. He can be a good prisoner too. Pain need not be so distant from pleasure if it's her hands inflicting it.”
