Fall Color At Iwato Ochiba-jinja Shrine In Kyoto, Japan. Photography by Katsua on Instagram
A luminous, unbroken carpet of fallen golden ginkgo leaves (ochiba) blankets the shrine courtyard, spilling across mossy stone paths and framing a weathered wooden pavilion. Overhead, a vibrant bough of scarlet and amber Japanese maple (momiji) extends across the upper frame, its fiery leaves contrasting vividly against the deep, shadowy green of the surrounding forest. Stone steps and a modest lantern lead the eye toward the darkened hall of the shrine, while the golden ground glows as if illuminated from within, filling the cool mountain air with the quiet, crisp atmosphere of late autumn.
Captured by photographer Katsua, this image highlights Iwato Ochiba-jinja, a secluded shrine nestled in the mountainous Kita-ku district of northern Kyoto. Appropriately named Ochiba-jinja ("Shrine of Falling Leaves"), the sacred site is renowned for its quartet of ancient ginkgo trees that shed their foliage almost simultaneously each November, cloaking the entire precinct in a brilliant golden mantle. Long connected to local mountain worship and traditional autumn foliage viewing (momijigari), the sanctuary exemplifies the traditional Japanese art of environmental monozukuri (artisanal landscape and sacred architectural design), where unpainted timber structures are positioned in continuous, harmonious dialogue with the cycles of the seasons.

Live your life with lots of egrets, not lots of regrets. #Deep #Photography
A photo of the bare branches of trees sticking up out of a pond of water. Among the branches are numerous (12) white egrets. Some are looking out while others are cleaning themselves. The birds are reflected in the water. Behind the pond are green trees and grasses illuminated in a warm tone from the setting Sun.

Seems the Orange 🤡's renaming Lake Ontario is just as popular as his renaming The Gulf of Mexico, which is... NOT AT ALL. Instead of working on lowering prices, his focus on B.S. like the Ballroom, Helipad & putting his name on the Kennedy Center is the perfect Midterm strategy...for the DEMS!
