Day 10! This is my little forest spirit for Battersea park, and my first London kiln guardian. He sold not too long ago. Side-note! I’m moving, so I got very distracted with that for a while (and will be for a while longer still) but! Finally I’m feeling up to posting! #20pots #ceramics #art
A small deer-like creature sits on the edge of something black, in front of a black background. He appears to be wearing a chain-like shirt. One hand is raised and waving, while the same leg is kicking forward. He is smiling with a small tongue hanging out. He has two anglers, covered in very subtle glaze dots. His general color palette is brown.

A sculpture in front of a concrete wall. The sculpture appears to be emerging from the ground. The head is the only discernible part of its form. The head is a skull, seemingly a mix between a canine and deer skull, with 5 pronged antlers. It is stoneware, rubbed with oxides and black underglaze, with spot glazing in the form of metallic tips to the antlers, and tears from the eyes, mouth, and nose. One of my favorite recent pieces: this is wood-fired porcelain. You can see on his tail where some clay fused and split off in the firing. However, I wasn’t really expecting him to survive the wood kiln and was pleasantly surprised! Ft: A dramatic picture of us together #ceramics #art #sculpture

A picture of a circular porcelain slab on a banding wheel. The slab was covered in black underglaze, which was scraped away to reveal the white porcelain. The image revealed shows two hybrid bird creatures, with some human limbs and features. They appear young but wrinkled. One is handing with hands on his hips. The other is playfully walking, heading behind the first. The first creature looks nonplussed by the others antics. In the background, there are misty crepuscular sunrays, and the branch of a tree.

A ceramic sculpture of the head of a creature, in front of a black background. The creature is facing left. The animal it most closely resembles is a rat, though two eyes are visible on this side of the face. The sculptures base color is off-white, but black underglaze has been rubbed over most of it to highlight the texture. There are four fangs visible, all of which are white and glazed. It has a little pink nose. The eyes were glazed antique gold: a glaze that pools gold but is almost black where applied thinly. The sculpture most closely resembles a rat. It is facing the camera but slightly angled to the right, so the front of the nose appears blunt. It is pink, with two nostrils visible.
Three eyes are visible from this angle (four total, but one on the right is slightly out of view). It has two rounded ears. The ceramic is an off white, but has a slight pink blush to some areas, and was rubbed with a black underglaze to highlight texture, which makes it appear a lot darker as a whole. Filthy little house spirit: 2024 Inspired by a tale from a friends childhood home in CA.
A ceramic sculpture of a creature. Its body is mostly covered in thick fur (except the face, feet, and hands). This fur has a chartreuse, base mottled with brown and black. It has small rounded ears on the sides of its head. It has pinkish, human-adjacent lips, and huge round eyes resembling. These eyes are a bright red. Its hands taper into long black points.
The feet also end in black, however they seem much more human than the hands. The toenails are yellowed and cracked.
The creature has it’s right leg thrust forward, and it’s left leg crouched to it’s side. Its left arm rests on the leg, and the right arm is placed on the ground, just outside the right leg, for balance. A ceramic sculpture of a creature: from the back . Their left hand is raised, as if in the process of going to salute, or point with two fingers. Most of the body is in shadow. At the bottom of the photo, tiny eyes, belonging to sculpted baby owls, peek up, hardly in view.
