I can't believe I forgot to share my new favorite notebook that is too delightful to use.

A hardcover notebook depicting the monarchs of England since the year 1066. Each is shown as a small caricature such as Henry 2 leapfrogging over a chair and Elizabeth 2 surrounded by corgis

The back of the notebook containing descriptions of various monarchs such as Henry 2: was a very busy, energetic king. He caused the death of Thomas Becket. And Edward 4: was extremely fond of eating.

Acquired an edited collection for a specific piece in it. Discovered that the piece will not help my current research. Was disappointed. Realized the introduction to the collection will surprisingly be super useful. Became happy. This is the academic way. 😅

I love libraries. I particularly love the New York Public Library. Yesterday, I needed a specific chapter from a book, but it doesn't exist super locally. Today, a scan of it popped into my email from them, because my request was already completed. It's like research magic. Libraries are wonderful.

I'm not really a pet-the-strange-dog girl, but I def made an exception today when I saw the real world incarnation of Lady from Lady and the Tramp. I acted like I was meeting an actual Disney princess 😆 (I didn't take a picture because I didn't know the human or dog and it might have been weird.)
