Excellent thread! There *are* rewards for being A Good Guy Who Speaks Up even if they are not immediately obvious or publicly bestowed. First, integrity is its own reward. Maybe you didn’t save the world or change hearts & minds. But if you held the line on not making it worse, that’s something.

I'll never be in the position where I get to heroically call the police because I'm invited to a felony in group chat. Saying DTFU means I will never be invited to that chat in the first place. Other men will see you do DTFU and realize they can do it too.

Thread. I learned the power of "dude that's fucked up" back in the 90s. You don't have to worry about "the right thing to say," DTFU has you covered. Assholes probe new people to see if they're like-minded. You detect a probe? "DTFU." They abandon you. Done. The reward? A life with good people.

Guys: take a few moments every week to practice saying "Dude, that's fucked up." Have it queued up in your brain. When some other guy says or does something awful, you'll have it ready to say. It'll buy you time to figure out if you need to call the cops, call him an ass, or whatever's next.
