QA engineer/AppSec. I dabble in politics, puns, theater, art, and music. I'm probably joking 🙃

Lawyers can't reach clients in ICE detention. I've heard it anecdotally, but scale of issue is horrifying. Bloomberg Law is a legal trade pub so many may miss this. Screenshot from their CA newsletter summarizes "bleak" situation for justice and rule of law. news.bloomberglaw.com/litigation/l...

What we found is bleak. Attorneys told us they’re struggling to get information in to or out of ICE and Customs and Border Protection facilities, which are holding nearly 69,000 people this month. And detainees often are forced to choose between remaining in crowded, squalid conditions or leaving the country immediately.

Judges in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles have ordered the government to facilitate attorney-client communications at Homeland Security buildings. But attorneys say that doesn’t always happen. Even if detainees get the option, some worry they’ll be punished if they take it.

Why is it that half the time I’m in a 737 MAX there’s more air leaking out of the light fixture than actually coming out the air vent?

Soon, on an X, the everything app, live stream: *Elon voice* "Hey guys, check out this awesome code I'm writing" *Your NodeJS FizzBuzz code submission scrolls the screen with keyboard mashing sounds coming through Elon's mic.* "It's really advanced stuff, but It will take hours to compile..."

A screenshot of a tweet by Elon Musk sent on Jan, 15th, 2025 with the following text:
"If you’re a hardcore software engineer and want to build the everything app, please join us by sending your best work to code@x.com.

We don’t care where you went to school or even whether you went to school or what “big name” company you worked at.

Just show us your code."

Once this whole thing unravels, I would pay cash money for a Nabokov style memoir (think Despair, Lolita, etc) of Elon Musk with an unreliable narrator that thinks himself a genius, but it's clear he's just cringe in a suit.

Meta's sites were full of disinformation even with these tools. If generative AI ever lives up to the hype, you'll know because moderation systems will work properly. I'm not holding my breath for that.

The real lesson of Zuckerberg and Musk is that some people are just born with loser stink on them that no amount of wealth or power will ever scrub off
