"But have you considered my worldview, that of a white cis het man with low education and extreme misogyny?" Yes, exclusively and that's why we're in this fucking mess. Shut up, sit down, and let the people who understand clean up.

Justin Ling: Donald Trump’s war on Canada will fail — just like last time
The clarity around Donald Trump’s true intentions is a strategic asset for Canada, Justin Ling writes. We know now, with no ambiguity, that he wants our capitulation.

Good thing we don't use basic cable anymore, but I hope she doesn't mind if the guy comes to read the electric meter.
Look closely at centre right, behind the honeysuckle vine growing against the side of our house, there's an American Robin (Turdus migratorius) sitting on her nest.

Butchart Gardens outside Victoria, BC are incredible. We were lucky enough to catch the cherry trees in bloom.
A lush green lawn illuminated by dappled sunshine is bursting with flowers. It is criss-crossed by two winding paths. Shrubs and trees line the paths, including cherry trees heavy with pink blossoms. In the distance, mountains covered in conifers rise up to a blue sky with a few thin white clouds.

The Iranian regime is objectively hideous. It murders & incarcerates innocent people, threatens & attacks sovereign neighbours, routinely breaks international law, outlaws dissent & crushes free speech. Can you see the problem with *Donald Trump & Benjamin Netanyahu* leading the attack on them?

Ok Bluesky, let’s give this a go: I found this postcard in the back of a photo frame I bought at a London thrift shop. It’s an unsent postcard from a woman called Linda to her parents. The front shows the Kremlin in Moscow and the stamp says 1984 (!). I’d love to return it to Linda - can you help?

When the far right invents or exaggerates bad behaviour by their foes - see ‘cancel culture’; threats to free speech; anti-fascist violence; financial corruption; cronyism etc - they do so to preemptively excuse their own far worse & blatant abuses in exactly the same spaces.

Yes. In November 2024, Cuomo joined Dershowitz's legal team to defend Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant from war crime charges. Given all we know and see every day, this should be a much bigger deal, if you ask me. gothamist.com/news/andrew-...
Cuomo, a Democrat, is one of at least 17 attorneys assembled by Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz to defend Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as they face international charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. The International Criminal Court in the Netherlands also brought similar charges against Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif.
