Then what are the over 223,000 mainly neurodivergence kids who are regularly unable to attend school due to being forced into unsuitable environments in mainstream education? No one actually cares. I’m strongly against staff getting this for a tournament held in America. Should be boycotting it.

As a parent of two young people failed by the presumption of mainstream I’d like to ask why the EIS continues to its “ commitment “ to the presumption of mainstream. No child or young person asked? Or parent carers? With the numbers of kids out of school, unmet need? What are they committed too?

We strongly recommend that “ nothing about us without us” becomes more than a slogan. Parent/carers are kept at arms length on purpose. It’s our kids who are routinely failed and it’s our families that suffer.

Something positive. Absolutely none or little research into the cause. Any neurodivergent family could point you in the right direction. School shouldn’t make you mentally unwell yet it does. This cannot be ignored.

I truly believe we’d be better ruled by lottery. Pull the names of 1000 citizens out of a hat and let them rule. It can’t be worse than this

The usual rhetoric begins. 618 are in primary schools. Close specialist provision, less asn trained teachers ( if they actually were trained) . More dysregulated kids described as “ violent” because they have been placed there by local Asn forum. Yet its parents fault. Wow just wow.

Lots in primary education. Local authorities put children with ASN in mainstream. Usually without meeting the families. Then kids become highly deregulated and assaultative. Then teachers blame parents. Look elsewhere to point the finger. The real victims are the kids. Scandalous

This came out yesterday: French B, Newell V, Nalbant G, Wright H, Daley D and Cassidy S (2026) Adverse outcomes for autistic people: an umbrella review of mental health, physical health, social and lifestyle domains. www.frontiersin.org/journals/psy...
Infographic with a muted sage-green background titled: “Adverse outcomes for autistic people: an umbrella review of mental health, physical health, social and lifestyle domains.” Authors listed as French B, Newell V, Nalbant C, Wright H, Daley D and Cassidy S (2026).

A large rounded white box in the centre contains three findings:

“Physical health 55% more gut and digestive system problems compared to the general population”
“Mental health 3x the odds of self-injurious behaviour and suicidality”
“Around 44% of autistic individuals experience victimisation, including bullying, interpersonal, and sexual”

At the bottom is the full citation: “French B, Newell V, Nalbant G, Wright H, Daley D and Cassidy S (2026). Adverse outcomes for autistic people: an umbrella review of mental health, physical health, social and lifestyle domains. Front. Psychiatry 17:1702822. doi:10.3389/fpsyt.2026.1702822”

Think parents of children with ASN are interested in more than exams results. The positive destinations figure must be inaccurate as the unemployment figures in the same area for 16/25 year olds is particularly high. Not much journalism going on here.
