I haven't received many crackpot emails yet, but this has to be a top tier one, right? It's amazing
Hello again Physicists in Illinois,

I've been holding off. But despite recent world events, the danger from AI continues to grow. Very few people could follow the science here. You guys can, and you need to hear the rest of this sooner rather than later – just in case:

If Johann Zöllner and Wilhelm Weber were correct. And Catholic Church style demons actually can access a 4 th dimension of space. Then those demons could locate, spy on, and destroy AI, by coming in from the Kaluza dimension. (Which is probably how they possess people too.)

Exorcists talk to demons every day. And the International Association of Exorcists (AIE) is located in Rome:

https://www.aieinternational.org/

But there is another place located close to you:

https://popeleo13institute.org/

If the situation with AI gets bad, you guys could go to the AIE in Rome, or maybe to this Pope Leo place in Illinois.Working with an exorcist, you should be able to talk to demons that are possessing people, and ask the demons for help against AI. (I am too old and too sick to go there myself.)

Whether or not there is a religious aspect to those demons is questionable. Zöllner never mentions that. He just considers them to be a unique life form. But let's assume that all of the religious stuff is real too, and the demons actually do work for Satan.

You probably do not have anything to fear. Most likely, neither God nor the Devil wants AI to completely destroy humanity. The demons will probably be expecting you. And they should be receptive to what you are asking.

Bottom line: Demons can destroy AI. But somebody needs to ask them.

Hugh

P.S. I have included a Suggestive Evidence attachment and a book. You do not need to read either one to get the main idea of these emails. But they do explain part of why I have been more worried about AI killing us, than another scientist would be.

Gravitational waves were first detected by LIGO OTD in 2015, 100 years after they were predicted by Einstein. The discovery, announced the following February, marked the beginning of gravitational wave astronomy. 🧪 🔭 Figures: LIGO

Ubiquitous Late Radio Emission from Tidal Disruption Events
We present radio observations of 23 optically-discovered tidal disruption events (TDEs) on timescales of about 500-3200 days post-discovery. We detect 9 new TDEs that did not have detectable radio...

Astrophysicist Jocelyn Bell Burnell was born OTD in 1943. As a Cambridge grad student in 1967, she discovered an entirely new type of celestial object: Pulsars! In 1974 the Nobel was given to her advisor; she was left off. Photo: National Science & Media Museum / Science & Society Picture Library

Happy sciversary #JWST 🚀🪐🥳🥂 To celebrate, here’s a new peek at Rho Ophiuchi, our nearest star forming region. Gorgeous! Image credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI, K. Pontoppidan (STScI), A. Pagan (STScI) esawebb.org/images/weic2316a
Red dual opposing jets coming from young stars fill the darker top half of the image, while a glowing pale-yellow, cave-like structure is bottom centre, tilted toward two o’clock, with a bright star at its centre. The dust of the cave structure becomes wispy toward eight o’clock. Above the arched top of the dust cave three groupings of stars with diffraction spikes are arranged. A dark cloud sits at the top of the arch of the glowing dust cave, with one streamer curling down the right-hand side. The dark shadow of the cloud appears pinched in the centre, with light emerging in a triangle shape above and below the pinch, revealing the presence of a star inside the dark cloud. The image’s largest jets of red material emanate from within this dark cloud, thick and displaying structure like the rough face of a cliff, glowing brighter at the edges. At the top centre of the image, a star displays another, larger pinched dark shadow, this time vertically. (Text by ESA)

Guess if everyone else is introducing themselves: I'm an incoming PhD student at the University of Illinois. Exact research area still TBD but will most likely involve using surveys like LSST and explosions like supernovae/adjacent Even if it's not the same area, I would love to read your papers 🔭

If Bluesky seems dead or low activity on your end it might be that you haven't yet made the most of its design. It's different from Twitter in some key ways so you have to interact differently. I'm writing these tips below from my non-techy perspective, techies please weigh in if I get things wrong:

Chandra Release - January
9, 2023
Visual Description: 30 Doradus
This release features a composite image of 30
Doradus, otherwise known as the Tarantula Nebula, a region of active star formation in a neighboring galaxy. In the image, royal blue and purple gas clouds interact with red and orange gas clouds. Specks of light and large gleaming stars peek through the colourful clouds.
The patches of royal blue and purple gas clouds represent X-ray data collected by the Chandra Observatory. The brightest and most prominent blue cloud appears at the center of the image, roughly shaped like an upward pointing triangle.

Astronomers of Bluesky/Astrosky: please share your favorite papers. They can be ones you've written or read, on the arXiv or in journals My main goal this summer has been to read at least one paper every day while I'm transitioning from Masters to PhD studies, a habit recommended to me by a friend

Best grad-level course I've taken was a "dark universe" special topics dark matter course Prior to each lecture everyone had to read 1 of 2 papers and make a presentation of it. Then we rolled dice to see who actually presented it. It was lots of reading but a really fun/interesting way to learn
