Very happy to share that I get to continue working as a researcher at the Swedish Veterinary Agency for the foreseeable future, studying the impact of climate change on animals & humans in a One Health perspective, including vector surveillance & work towards safe food & water in a changing world.
Photo collage of representative activities I've done at SVA this past year including microscoping, radio interviews, a sheep at the agriculture fair, a tick, flagging ticks in the forest and work with drones to disperse reindeer lichen.

Starting off our week with a smile! 😄 Were you serenaded by nature this weekend? Share your snaps and stories below 👇 Comic: They Can Talk (Jimmy Craig)
This comic features four panels. In the first panel, a large bird sits on a branch, saying "spring is upon us." In the second panel, the bird, facing the viewer with a serious look, declares "we must let everyone know." The third panel reveals several small birds on a branch below, listening intently, as one of the little birds says, "but they're all asleep." The fourth panel shows the large bird's face up close, with its eyes narrowed determinedly, stating "then wake them." The artwork is simple with soft colours, and humorously refers to the loud dawn chorus heard during springtime, that might disturb the peaceful slumber of humans.

Graphical abstract for the paper. There are two panels, the first shows a map of the sampling locations with the ranges of both nightingale species plotted on a map of Europe. The second panel shows a graph of malaria prevalence in the two species, split up by their distance from the zone of sympatry.
