At least the passage between train and air terminal is sheltered, so it isn't as direct in conveying its hatred for train passengers. But the point is still pretty clear. As it is in so many of the other bad US examples.

They're definitely in the walkway to the rail station. So in addition to wind, wetness and car exhaust, you get those shuttle carts honking at you.

Tri-Met in Portland, Oregon ran the terminal track to within 100 feet of the terminal door. It's a small airport, but the train connection is among the best in the US, right up there with DCA.

It almost makes you miss that ridiculously expensive 10 minute bus ride it replaced.

MDW isn't as impressive, as it's a dreary slog thru a parking garage, though it's not so half assed as Seattle's. Quarter assed, maybe? I give Richie some credit (which I'm loathe to do but it's due) for moving the air terminal to be closer to the train.

Chicago ORD is excellent. Stub rail terminal is central to the 3 domestic terminals, each connected by moving walkways in sheltered passages.

The whitest town in the Bay Area proposed affordable housing. Then some neighbors blocked it as segregation
A Bay Area housing project has become a test of a city’s stated goals to build more housing and become more inclusive.

I really think the US would be better if we hadn’t designed almost all of it in the last century like the only people who walk are poor people and iconoclasts

I remember that day well. I bought a standing room ticket. Sandberg was my first Cubs baseball card when I started watching in 1984. I was glad to be there for his farewell.

It was a time when even Johnny Paycheck could be squeezed into a suit. Like squeezing him into the Nashville sound, the packaging didn't change the essence of the product.

The fact that it's so close to the election matters not at all to the conservatives on the court. Their interpretation of the Purcell principle is that election changes can't be made close to an election, unless they help Republicans, in which case the changes MUST be made.

Didn't know these single curb cuts feeding two crosswalks were still a thing in 2026. Least of all in Redmond.

This is how New York Times insidiously helps Trump and GOP. Article makes it seem like Americans collectively caused the runaway national debts when in fact it's Trump's actions and policies, all backed by GOP pols, that's destroying America's financial future: www.nytimes.com/2026/08/19/b...

U.S. Debt Hits $40 Trillion as America’s Borrowing Binge Continues (Gift Article)
President Trump’s promises to restore fiscal order and reduce the amount of America’s debt burden have been undercut by spending on the Iran war, tax cuts and tariff refunds.
