One thing we do in our review is just provide a source for references to many other reviews on individual topics, collect many refs for recent structural work, and also try to point to some older key papers. We also try to emphasize open questions or where interpretation can be tricky

Out now in Dev Cell! scRNAseq trajectories describe the cascade of gene expression as cells differentiate, but turning them into a clear understanding of the underlying biology of a cell type's development remains challenging. authors.elsevier.com/c/1k9qj5Sx5g... (1/)

New paper from the lab now published in MBE: Evolutionary dynamics of pro-inflammatory caspases in primates and rodents! We found some cool stuff about how these immune proteins rapidly evolve, with implications for functional studies 1/n academic.oup.com/mbe/advance-...
Graphic showing the pro-inflammatory caspase locus in human and mouse genomes. In human, there have been many, recent duplications of caspase genes, shown in colored arcs (panel A) as well as non-coding regions (panel B). In mouse there is essentially no recent innovation in the locus, other than some transposons moving around.
