The actual facts become secondary very quickly once a narrative takes hold. In this case, the "evidence" that over a year ago I accidentally clicked/unclicked on a spam account shared internally for investigation. That became, for some people, justification for sexual harassment and targeted abuse.

When users are suspended for harassment or abusive behavior, some immediately claim the action was taken because of their identity. It becomes a way to avoid accountability for conduct that violated the rules. Yet, your identity does not give you a free pass to harass others on the internet.
