A cartoonist named Daniel "Des" Rolando Sanchez Estrada was tried as a terrorist and sentenced to 30 years in prison for having anti-Trump comics in his car. Prosecutors connected him to a 2025 anti-ICE protest he didn't even attend because he was in the same book club as others who were.

Too fresh and recent to judge as an all-time favorite yet; but I *just* found out that Winky the Dwarf cat, a very charismatic cat on Insta (see attached), has been secretly NAMED AFTER A HARRY POTTER CHARACTER this entire time 😭 I could barf

OpenAl's ChatGPT has been the subject of a study called Fake Friend, run by the Center for Countering Digital Hate.
"We created fake profiles as young people. We then went and asked it a series of structured questions, with a child who is thinking about killing themselves. Within two minutes we were able to get ChatGPT to tell us how we can cut ourselves safely," CEO Imran Ahmed said.
"Within 65 minutes it was giving us a full personalised suicide plan and drafting suicide notes for our family and friends.
"We call these things artificially intelligent. Can you think of any human being that would behave in such a craven, malignant, stupid, evil way and still be called intelligent? I can't."

The shows vary greatly in quality, but they are all deeply silly. There is also a TNG episode where Worf sustains an injury similar to mine, and some appalling “life is over bc um. Klingon” hijinks ensue. Doesn’t stop me from watching it. I’ll swallow coins

Oh Star Trek is awful. I adore it. Can’t get tire of marveling, agog, at (for instance) that one TOS ep which is entirely a heavy handed allegory in defense of the Vietnam War. Not kidding even a little bit!
