Yep I do dozens of interviews a year. I've had some that I was genuinely dying for the person. Nothing beats the time a huge beetle crawled out of the man's suit coat, walked up his shoulder, jumped into his hair &he flicked it off onto the table & said 'whoopsie Daisy!'& smashed it on the table.

Absolutely! I had to add some holiday cheer to my doubly-devastated by 2 tornados neighborhood. They are now cutting down all the remaining trees and it's just depressing. I had to do something!

I don't care where I sit but I'm terrified of flying so if my boyfriend is next to me he can hold my hand and distract me so I don't freak out on a stranger. The downside for me is once he falls asleep the whole plane is going to hear his thunderous snoring And know he belongs to me lol

Nah they're in big cities. Orlando, Chicago, Vegas, NYC, even in London. They were a kinda competitor to the whole mid 90s hard rock cafes but the good was meh so most of them went under. There's still a few left. Food is still meh.

On this #Caturday I am stressed. 2 visits to the vet, 4 kitties who needed flea treatment, 2 that needed shots, and just when I thought things were a-ok one has eye irritation. I'm hoping if I just keep rinsing her eyes it'll be ok. Poor baby doesn't seem to be in pain but is winkin blinkin

Post 2-tornados the village came and chopped down what was left of both of the trees in the parkway in front of my house. They were planted about 5 years before I moved here when I was in 1st grade. I grew up with them and now they're gone and I hate how my house looks from the street. It's sad.

I had a very difficult one this year at grad because it was a read. African name that requires a special rhythm and accent. I spent a week double& triple checking. He hugged me on the stage & his mom found me after &cried with joy. I'm glad I made them proud but shouldn't have taken until he was 14

I think the university system exploits labor at all levels. From professors to post docs to TAs to the tuition paying students that are undergrads or grads. Good people who are willing to train, mentor, teach, and treat people at all of those levels well seem sadly rare. Thank you.

How do you feel about Ms word editor or grammarly? I am genuinely curious as someone who has always really struggled with spelling and punctuation when the shift from having to intentionally click the 'spell check' button to seeing it underlined live happened it made me a better speller somehow?

The assistant principalship is a HARD job. Hard in a different way than teaching is hard. One of the toughest parts is being expected to show professional trust to those who openly will not offer you the same no matter how intentionally you try to build it.

We are doing this tomorrow now that the buildings in the district have power again. What else can we do? Some of our staff, teachers, kids, parents, and administrators are getting free meals from the red Cross. There is so much need and not even everyone has power yet. I can't even imagine work..

The entire town is traumatized. It looks like a war movie set. Friday night we finally got to sleep with the power back on. It's been so hot and humid sleeping with impossible. Gas stations had no gas and no power so it was 4 round trips a day to the nearest town with an open station until Friday

It is unbelievable - I've never seen anything like this. The power poles were snapped in 1/2 & laying w the wires floating in the creek. They all had to be replaced and put back up. Trees were uprooted & literally upside down w chunks of sidewalk dangling from the roots 5 feet up in the air.

A tree fell on one of our cars but miraculously barely any damage. Just 2 dents and a cracked mirror casing. All gas stations were closed without power or gas so had to make 4 trips a day to dolton/South Holland to fill a 2.5 gallon gas can to keep generator running. No sleep all week from the heat

'ok' is relative at this point really. I haven't heard of any deaths at least in my town but a series of tornados tore through about a 30 mile stretch along the IL IN border. They're saying power won't be restored everywhere until the 22nd.

My neighborhood sustained 2 direct tornado hits in 3 weeks. I just got power back & we had to push the school year back. It looks like nothing Ive ever seen before. Im ok but my neighbors are not. This is widespread devastation. It's atrocious! This is the next block over! youtu.be/W6yNWYAJw1o?...

It's exhausting mentally and emotionally. Even since I started my program 3 years ago it's changed things. A discussion post used to take me an hour now it takes 3 days. And if I change things to be less flagged it's not me anymore nor is it good anymore

Just turned in my PhD comps exam last night. Instead of feeling a relieved sense of 'i got this!' Im living in terror worried that it won't pass ai detection because doctoral writing is formulaic and the rubric literally says 'polished to publication quality' level

Kinder and 9th are tied for my least favorite. I was moved 1 year from 12th and 6th (my favorite teaching assignment ever) to 9th because 'i can't have one of my best teachers teaching the easiest to teach grades when we need to move the needle'. So I found another job & they lost me for any grade

Lol thanks. I've done every grade except 10th and 11th. I loved middle school but the years I taught 4 periods of 6th grade and 3 periods of 12th grade at a 6-12th grade school was the best years of my career. Loved every second. Best of both worlds. I called myself the bookends of the school.

Feeling sad but grateful tonight. The houses across the street from me and the next street over were destroyed by this afternoons storm. Thus far I haven't found any damage other than my driveway light fixture. Meanwhile my. Neighbors sunroom flew over my house and into the house behind mines roof

Missed #Caturday because I was doing homework all day but here is #Daisy who sometimes just curls up on this soft rug and passes out. I think it reminds her of the soft grass clippings she used to sleep in before we saved her and brought her inside a year ago.
