On this #Caturday I am stressed. 2 visits to the vet, 4 kitties who needed flea treatment, 2 that needed shots, and just when I thought things were a-ok one has eye irritation. I'm hoping if I just keep rinsing her eyes it'll be ok. Poor baby doesn't seem to be in pain but is winkin blinkin

Post 2-tornados the village came and chopped down what was left of both of the trees in the parkway in front of my house. They were planted about 5 years before I moved here when I was in 1st grade. I grew up with them and now they're gone and I hate how my house looks from the street. It's sad.

Feeling sad but grateful tonight. The houses across the street from me and the next street over were destroyed by this afternoons storm. Thus far I haven't found any damage other than my driveway light fixture. Meanwhile my. Neighbors sunroom flew over my house and into the house behind mines roof

Missed #Caturday because I was doing homework all day but here is #Daisy who sometimes just curls up on this soft rug and passes out. I think it reminds her of the soft grass clippings she used to sleep in before we saved her and brought her inside a year ago.

#edusky I want to complain about what I've noticed in #women's clothes over the past 10 yrs. So the price goes ↗️ and quality goes ⬇️ Why do I have to drag out retro 80s slips & camisoles? Why is everything see through? Why do I have to wear tank tops under everything? Even sweaters are see through!

#edusky today I turned in the toughest assignment of my life & have exactly 1 assignment left to finish before Thurs of my entire PhD coursework. Once that's done I take my comps exam & start my dissertation. I look like a hag from the last 2 weeks of working so much. But I feel some relief now.

My house is now a sanctuary for every cat & kitten in town. Poor injured guy is blind in 1 eye & has a snaggle tooth & what appears to be a jaw that was broken but he trusts us & he's sweet & trolls the neighborhood and finds all kittens in the neighborhood & brings them here for a place to stay.

Its #caturday and exactly a year ago this precious 5 month ish old kitten was pregnant and came inside to get away from 105 degree heat, got fixed, and stayed inside w her sister and now she's a 1.5 year old AC and couch loving cuddle diva.

#edusky this afternoon I finished the first draft of the first iteration of the Lit Review that will eventually become my #Dissertation Chapter 2. There is SO much more work to do in the next 5 weeks and the coming year but this really feels like a milestone and a weight off.

#edusky one of the best things that I did for myself was join a for fun book club with other adult non educator women. Just reading for fun & getting together for themed drinks and crafts and discussion around the book. You have to have noneducation fun stuff with noneducators to stay social.

When I first started my doctoral program I knew it would be a lot of work. Like a part time job on top of an already demanding career. But now that I'm at the climax it's more like a full time job on top of a full time job. I'm actually looking forward to the slower pace of the dissertation phase

Only weekend I've had without any grad school homework since Xmas. And the last one I'll have until Xmas. 1 course, 1 comps exam and 1 dissertation to go. I'm really ready to be finished but have enough left to go that I don't feel almost done. (Goal:finish it all by the last few months of 2027)
