MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I took a break after finishing the Warhammer helmet course as I got burnt out, and just been looking after myself. I'll get back on the hard-surface modelling soon 🙂 010
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Fantastic work! I did a similar helmet "project", it was more or a tutorial I followed. I modelled a Space Marine helmet from Warhammer. It's part of a hard-surface modelling course I was learning. Wanted to try and apply what I've learnt into other helmet projects, one of them being a cyberman! 110
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I'll never have the chance to express my gratitude for voicing such a legendary character like Optimus Prime. 000
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/08/2026I'm absolutely heartbroken at the news. Growing up with Transformers, his voice brought provided such an iconic and legendary performance as the Autobot leader. No-one can replace Peter Cullen. I'm also heartbroken at the fact that an opportunity to meet him is now gone. 100

MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Very true. Im going to spin this topic around and say that I wrote a letter to one of my favourite authors, Michael Morpurgo. My school librarian knew about how many books I read from him so, she recommended me to type up a letter. In return, I got a reply & a signed copy of one of his books! 200

MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 20/07/2026I've not done that with the slats, gunboxes & lower collar, yet. I'll do those soon. 010
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 20/07/2026I bevel the edges to help light bend. I do that, as best as I can. But yes within the workbench matcap, I enable cavity. It looks nicer like that for me 111
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Yea that's true. But I tend to generally go for a more 'mass-produced' sort of look with my Dalek models & don't really aim for photorealism. But, I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Thanks! How does this look, btw? 100
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Also Mike, how many degrees from the centre point did you place the domelights? I think 45 degrees was a nice round number but wanted to verify it with you 200

MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 03/07/2026I want to give a massive shout-out to @portalrealm.bsky.social for sending over a detailed guide on how to 3d model the imperial shoulders! I've just blocked the Gunboxes in, and so far it looks better! I had to improvise on some of the steps but, I hope this looks okay 120
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 28/06/2026No need to apologise. Thanks for sharing your method on how do model the gunboxes & slats, Mike. 000
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026You've broken it down enough for me to give it a try, so I appreciate the help 🙂. I'll try this later this afternoon/early evening as I'm currently taking a break from 3d modelling. 010
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026How to* (sorry, for the mistakes and lack of clarity in my thread. Had a stressful day because of this heat). 110
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Sorry had to delete my original reply to you. I know how to input measurements. It's how do model the gunboxes and slats, by inputting the measurements. Considering the slats and the upper collar section was one-piece 100
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Here's an image of the Imperial Dalek slats. I forgot to post that. 200
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026And, I'm not sure what to do. I'm also asking the same question for the slats as, from what I can see, the upper collar and the slats seem to be conjoined to one-piece. I don't know how I can do that in 3d, especially with inputting measurements! So any help on that would be much appreciated! (🧵6/6) 200
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I was told by John from Project Dalek that, the elevations aren't drawn to scale. And that it would be best to 3d model the rest of the model by inputting measurements from the plans, and this is where I'm stumped. As, I did do that before, for the gunboxes, but they still looked off. (🧵5/6) 100
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I tried my best by screenshot-ing some of the more detailed elevations from the Project Dalek Forums Imperial Plans, scaled down to the size of my Imperial model and 3d model the rest by eye but, the shape of my gunboxes didn't match up to the elevations. (🧵4/6) 100
MSharif3D @msharif3d.bsky.social · 27/06/2026I was able to get the basic shape of the shoulders done. But when it came to the gunboxes & slats, this is where I'm lost. I started off with blocking the shape of the gunboxes. And I realised that they looked...off. (🧵3/6) 100
