It is much less ego bruising to be corrected by the computer than it is to be corrected by someone you see, in some way, as your enemy. The latter is usually metabolized as "lost the battle, gotta regroup and strike back somehow" meanwhile not as many people send hate mail to ms word's autocorrect

My guess is that in combination with this, the chatbot is free from the context of a real person debunking the beliefs. In real life someone who looks like someone you hate or distrust (or simply don't want to be in agreement with, for whatever reason) will not get through with the same words
