Mathshelper .co .uk appears to be down. Does anyone know the contact for the person that hosts this fabulous website? I use it's resources regularly, especially it's legacy past paper links! #alevelmaths #ukmathschat

Hi there, sorry for my tardy response! Of course you can! Feel free, they have been shared for people to make use of.

Having the 'live' embed of these resources has been great but I will now have to edit this so that the links are useable. In MS's wisdom it appears that there are no plans to update/re-release the Web Viewer add-on for PowerPoint ... :(

I'm glad that so many people are finding these useful. Please do give any feedback if you use them. I've noticed that, where I have embedded 'live' desmos and other web-based resources, the Web Viewer add-on for PowerPoint that I have used to do this has now been retired by MS ......

That being said, it will support the Stats in Maths massively, but this is only 1/6 of the Maths course. Hope this helps!

I don’t think Stats should be seen as a subject to support A-Level Maths as Edexcel themselves say that it is a course in Statistics, not Maths. It does massively support statistical understanding of concepts required in other A-Levels however.

We haven’t dealt with this yet, however next year I anticipate that we may have this option. We have a wide variety of students studying Stats, ranging from M, FM and S (1 std) to stds studying w/o Maths.

It's a great course and the students have really enjoyed their studies. There are so many links to statistics in other A-Level subjects and to real world statistical applications.

I have had a blast teaching this course and passionately believe its a brilliant course that more students should have access to. I would be happy to share more about how the students and teachers have found it at my school.

Please do share and give me feedback, they have been collated and created only by me and hence will inevitably have mistakes. My year 13 class have been great at spotting calc mistakes the behemoth that is the ANOVA resource...! #alevelmaths #ukmathschat

Each resource starts off with the topic (ref my SOW), the spec links through a learning journey & then teaching slides. I've planned them for teacher use primarily but could be used by students, considering the lack of accompanying textbook I have uploaded them to Teams for my students as I teach.

Oliver Whatley @mrwhatleymaths.bsky.social · 23/02/2025
As mentioned, the resources are in the style of DrFrostMaths older resources and have taken activities from DrFrostMaths legacy resources, Edexcel SOW materials, the old AQA textbook, some things that I have picked up along the way (thank you @catrionaagg.bsky.social !) and my own activities

I also created a 2 year SOW using the Edexcel (I know there is an updated one coming soon) SOW as a base. You will also find this work in the folder as well. #alevelmaths

I have now largely finished this project, bar a couple and hence would like to share my work. I take no credit for any resources that I have used. There are of course activities/resources that I have created to plug the gaps where there were very little (ANOVA for example). #ukmathschat

I set myself the task of resourcing the entire course in the form of ppts, very much in the style of DrFrostMaths 's Maths and FM resources. To start, I used some of DrFrostMath's legacy FM/FS resources so not to crossover with current A-Level Maths and FM resources. @drfrostresource.bsky.social

In my role of KS5 Maths Coordinator, a passion project of mine over the last 3 years has been to launch A-Level Statistics at my school. I successfully launched and now have two cohorts studying towards their A-Level Stats. As is known, there aren't a lot of resources out there so ... #alevelmaths

BONUS: I have an adapted version which allows for input of 'marks' per assessment - doesn't produce HQs per class; WIP will do soon and will upload and 'sky' about it! #edusky

Also worth noting the really cool feature, theres a drop down at the top, it works for KS4 & KS5 data (+KS3 but its only set up for my school's approach to AWL).... Quite proud of that one!! #edusky

Each class then has it's own HQ produced on the HQ per class tab. #edusky

Oliver Whatley @mrwhatleymaths.bsky.social · 09/12/2024
Then on the Raising Standards Tab: Progressively - Cumulative progress vs target with room for teacher adjustment if necessary And upload 'Engagement scores' per assessment period (We use our reporting data here) A whole HQ is also created as this data is inputted here. #edusky

This data sheet is set up so that you upload on the Data Tab: Initially - Student names, class, student labels, targets Progressively - The grade per assessment (period) #edusky

To this end, I wanted to share a resource school wide to help colleagues in other faculties. Hence I wanted something user friendly, useful and robust. I started work on a template and this is what I've made: workdrive.zohoexternal.com/file/7cq9u30... w/ made up std examples! #edusky

Given my data set up, I thought that I have the progress data already, along with the conditional formatting. I'm sure I can produce a resource which does the heavy lifting so that teachers can focus on the interventions, not the 'identifying' - something I was focussed on any way. #edusky

At the tail end of the academic year my school updated their Raising Standards process by making Horsforth Quadrants (HQ) the central component to the process. Initially, the guidance was for teachers to manually go through each student in their class and place them on the Quadrant. #edusky

The grade data fills into my over marksheet as linked using SharePoint:

Teachers fill QLA:

Oliver Whatley @mrwhatleymaths.bsky.social · 09/12/2024
The teachers enter data and that dynamically updates my overall data sheet, all on SharePoint. All sheets are conditionally formatted for relative progress against target grades. Teachers are drawn to identify progress as opposed to just attainment. #ukmathschat #edusky

In our SharePoint area I have created folders for each class that we have across KS5. In each folder there is a SOY document and I upload QLAs for each assessment which as been pre formatted with that class's students and targets. The SOY document has the students accompanied with their target grads

For the A-Level Maths marksheet, it also creates a 'learning wall' so that it can inform teacher's about how a class may get on with linked topics. The FM one isn't set up yet- WIP!! #ALevelMaths

Oliver Whatley @mrwhatleymaths.bsky.social · 02/12/2024
Additionally I also created a marksheet for teachers to use, if they wished, that allows them to simply input the marks per question achieved. It is set up so that it will highlight average student performance per Q and class performance per Topic, across BOTH years. #ALevelMaths

Teachers get the benefit of regularly seeing student work based on exam questions, with benefit of impact on workload as its the same question. #ALevelMaths

Oliver Whatley @mrwhatleymaths.bsky.social · 02/12/2024
After each topic, students get issued with an 'Exit Ticket' which is an exam question based on content from that topic. 1. Students complete the question, in exam conditions (benefits of regular exam practice etc) 2. Teachers mark, spot misconception/common themes to give feedback #ALevelMaths

Our homework system was causing some workload issues, however we wanted to still have a regular teacher oversight on student work, not just waiting until the next assessment. As such I created a topic 'Exit Ticket' resource, inspired by a conversation with @misschakera.bsky.social #ALevelMaths
