Even the Polish foreign minister is questioning Trump’s alleged diesel oil deal with Russia. America is quickly waking up to see through Trump’s gaslighting to desperate, absurd and foolish attempt to score publicity points prior to midterms. No doubt that Putin doesn’t have the supply.

Our embassy reports fuel shortages even in Moscow, which is always prioritized for supplies. Moreover, serious sources report that Ukraine has already damaged about 50% of Russia's refining capacity. So where will the surpluses for export come from?

The first Russian diesel cargo heading for the US left St Petersburg on September 22, two weeks *before* Trump announced the deal with Putin, Windward reports. The Greek-flagged tanker Minerva Zen carrying 275,000 barrels of diesel/gasoil is due at the US East Coast around 11–12 October.

Russia can’t even produce enough diesel for its own needs! “Guardian analysis of port records and ship-tracking data found that in July and August over 176,000 tonnes of fuel, mostly diesel, was loaded at several South Korean ports on to seven tankers that made 14 voyages to Russia’s far east.“

I don’t comment on the probability of either happening, but that they are even conceivable requires action now on US interference in European democracies, and (quiet, careful) planning on how to maintain a united front in support of Ukraine should the choice be forced upon Europe.

Exactly. Trump is a willing participant, with his recent suggestion that Ukraine’s strikes on RU refineries were to blame for diesel prices, not his own idiotic war against Iran.

This is how it works in Scotland, and thought it doesn't totally get rid of the shysters it's a pretty well accepted way of doing things and almost eliminates most of this nonsense in the English system.

The sooner the English system gets reformed the better. Here in the heathen lands the seller has to buy a survey when going on the market, which is then available for any prospective buyer to see, so there should be no nasty surprises like that at the last minute.

The ability to pour hundreds of millions of pounds into a loss-making TV channel, bent on wrenching British politics sharply to the right, is yet another of the ways in which extreme wealth is trying to remake UK democracy. It needs to be part of any serious conversation about political funding.
