I think a lot about how people have to be the community they want. There's this unspoken expectation that community has to exist, without realizing that community requires everyone to contribute. If you want something, you have to prove it exists in yourself.

Essentially,tech companies are promising it's worth pouring cash into it because it will eventually make investors rich beyond their wildest dreams. So they're raking in billions from people who are *already* rich beyond their wildest dreams in order to shovel it into a furnace.

Agreed. Everyone at the table has to be actively doing that in good faith for any meaningful debate or discussion. As it stands, "good faith" was sent to the wider galaxy with Voyager 1.

My grandmother was the toughest, no non-sense women I've ever known and she had zero qualms or issues putting belt to ass on anyone who would threaten those who couldn't defend themselves. She's elbowed open bigots in the fucking throat in her early 90's. She was a devoted catholic.

Its less "trouble" and more that you see them for who they are. It was only a matter of time until the average American would recognize the mutual tug of war between establishment dems and republicans and just completely lose faith in democracy. I don't really blame them either.

What is surprising is that they where able to hold back enough to not immediately start throwing slurs or saying that the marginalized are "ungrateful". They still 100% want to, but kudos for keeping it to themselves... I guess?
