Max Jaffe. A man in a white t-shirt, behind a drum kit, on a stage. There is a purple-ish light from the stage lights washing over the stage. His set consisted of him playing live drums, with certain drums triggering recorded loops which he improvised to. Mind blowing.

Cole Berliner. A man with peroxide blonde hair and an acoustic guitar, in a spotlight, with a pink-ish wash from the stage lights. His whole set was just him and his guitar, with minimal effects. He sang on two or three songs but the rest were instrumental, meditative and hypnotic. He did a Bert Jansch cover too. Absolutely stunning.

Cory Hanson. A man wearing a black suit and white vest, playing a Telecaster and singing into a mic. His set was blistering, his band were utterly locked in. Ferocious.

Big City Festival, Queen’s Park Recreational Ground. Great wee festival, good vibes, amazing music.

The mighty Super Furry Animals. Back to back to back bangers. A fucken triumph. One of the best live bands there is.

Spiritualized. A wall of noise. No between song chat, just glorious psychedelic devotional music. Sublime.

Richard Dawson. Funny, intense and engaging. See him the first chance you get.

Had an interview today, which went pretty well, just found out I didn’t get it as another candidate spoke another language and this was what tipped the scale. There was no mention at any point of that as a requirement in the interview or job description. I am somewhat put out* *fucken ragin.
