The Knightriders was a surprise find as I had never thought to search for it.But who doesn't love a medieval movie on motorbikes, written and directed by George A Romero! Also, received notification that a favorite songwriter of mine just self released a solo album today, so that was exciting news

Christy Amphlett's autobiography got a recent re-release.Only ever had a e-book version, nice to finally find a physical copy.Added soundtracks to the collection:a 2CD Jaws 2 & Poltergeist.Replacing single disc I had,so should be enjoyable to hear the extras and the more complete presentation.

Sent a package off to a friend today and the night before I felt the urge to doodle a little drawing on the box. I often share photos and stories of my feral cat adventures with her as she shares a mutual appreciation for the felines.

A little drawing I made on the outside of a box I shipped to a friend that shows a kitten inside a Halloween pumpkin bucket

With the cost of everything up this Halloween, it begs the question: Does candy even come in something smaller than "Fun Size" ? "Not As Much Fun" Size?

Of course, after I finished, and was ready to start printing covers & tracklists to ready for mailing to friends....I discovered the printer no longer works. Dad had a fall months ago and knocked it to the floor and it must have been damaged in the accident. Ahh such is life.

Almost didn't put together the mix this year as every time I had a moment to work on it I either felt too tired to focus or thought-Oh there's plenty of time,I'll get to it tomorrow....and then tomorrow became October 1st. But,determined,I managed to gather the goods and get to work

My feral kitty was sure in a snuggly mood yesterday. He loves to sleep next to me,especially if part of him is touching me in some way. After he was invited inside for warmth, food, and attention, he got right up close and remained so for as long as I could be with him down on the floor

More of my feral kitty snuggling up close. This time using my arm as his pillow

Amusingly,I have seen all the movies,in the theater,no less, as I always seemed to know someone who was a fan of the show and I went along for the ride. But I've never seen any of the various series from start to finish.Recently,I have started watching the original.Am about halfway through Season One

000

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Not surprisingly, there are a lot of articles/interviews in regards to Star Trek.A show that I have only watched haphazardly. The original series was on all the time in reruns as a kid.And while I watched it on occasion,I never was a dedicated viewer.Same thing for Next Gen,on & off for 2 seasons

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Caregiving for Mom & Dad,there is a lot of down time that requires waiting around for the next need.I've been filling those moments, until the sudden pull away, with revisiting old,to me,media. Lately,I have been reading through past issues of Starlog & Cinefantastique magazines.

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Also, for fun, there are a few scenes in the original trailer that never made the movie.1) Mustard asking Mr Green why he is screaming. This scene took place right after Yvette screamed from the billiard room.2)Then Prof Plum's "I'm looking,I'm looking" occurred as they put the cook's body on the sofa:

100

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I think there is a bit of the fourth ending footage in this TV trailer. When Prof Plum says the line : "And what's it got to do with me?" . This line takes place when Wadsworth is accusing Mrs Peacock and Prof Plum as being the murderers in that version's ending youtu.be/7Bsidte2im4?...

Love John Williams score to Witches. Been meaning to read the book. Had a copy in my ever growing "To be read before dead" pile but it got damaged in a basement flood. Should think about replacing the lost copy and reading it for Oct with the soundtrack as mood music

The mysterious 4th ending appeared in a kids picture book of the movie (strange choice for merchandising tie-in) . The alternative ending is also provided in the novelization.

"I saw it in the window, and I just couldn't resist it" The idea of this dress was not in the original script. Bob Mackie came up with the idea within the week before the show as a fantastic visual and funny homage to the curtain dress from the original movie

The green curtain dress as seen in Gone with the Wind

000

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

The Carol Burnett sketch"Went with the Wind"first aired on Nov 13,1976,less than a week after nearly the entire nation spent a total of 5 hours watching the broadcast television debut of"Gone with the Wind"on Nov 7th.Bob Mackie came up with the concept & designed this hilarious joke in a costume.RIP

The legendary "Went with the Wind" dress, conceived, designed, and made by Bob Mackie for The Carol Burnett Show. The dark green "dress" is actually curtains with gold fringe draped over the dress the character was wearing in the precious scene, cinched at the waist with the curtain tieback ropes, and still attached to the curtain rod which hangs at their shoulders. Prompting the character to say "I saw it in the window, and I just couldn't resist it"

What I find curious is that they were published a year apart & the UK version was released before the US(for an American film,no less).Novelizations were still a regular occurrence in '84,so publishing/marketing interest would have been there.Yet it seems a decision came after the film was a success

110

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

For example : Why Ray is seen wearing a Rev. War outfit in a montage. There were also alternate novelizations for "The Terminator".The UK released a version in early 84 by Shaun Hutson (of "Slugs" fame). Then the US version came out in late 84,again featuring extra material

031

Hazel Rah @mrhazelrah.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Fun Fact ( which you may have already discovered) There are TWO different novelizations for Ghostbusters.Milne's version was published in '84 in the UK.And is more of a straightforward adaption. The Mueller version was a pub in '85 & expands on the movie.Including elements featured in the script

This is another one of those odd transitions of book to movie to book again . A novelization of the screenplay to the movie based off the Bram Stoker book.

I have been forever fascinated by novelizations since a kid. They were a weird and wonderful way to revisit favorites. It's nice to see the genre continue with movies, especially horror, that were never given the treatment
