But how can I do that when every time I cross the threshold of my front door, I collapse into a puddle of exhaustion and feel nothing but mediocrity whenever I think about doing something other than scrolling social media? I don't even read books much anymore, and I have so many I want to read.

I don't know what to do anymore. I'm not living, I'm merely existing. Is this really what adulthood is like? I just turned 28. I have another 50-60 years of life if I'm lucky, probably more like 40. I don't have any friends in my immediate vicinity. I don't have a romantic partner. I'm just... me.

I wish I could do what I want on the weekends but even then I have things I need to do that keep me away from my hobbies. I need to do laundry. I need to do the dishes. I need to cook. I need to clean. etc etc etc. And that's just the weekends I'm not going out of town with family.

And I love my job too, so it's even more of a punch to the gut that this could be what's causing me to not want to pursue my hobbies anymore, or pursue new ones. I just wake up, get ready, go to work, come home, and then I become a vegetable until it's time to go to sleep and then repeat tomorrow

I didn't fit in with the office dynamics at either job, but at this one, I've done better, and I think it's because I've not been putting my real self on display as much. I've been playing a role, and unfortunately I can't stop playing it now. I can't lose this job. I don't know what I'd do if I did

I believe I learned how to do this after two failed jobs. My first full time job I was fired from after I snapped at a supervisor for asking for ETA on a job I was working on that I didn't know when I would finish, and the second I was laid off because I didn't fit in with the office dynamics

It was like a wave of exhaustion came over me. I had plans for the weekend but as soon as I walked in the door I didn't want to do anything but sleep. I had been playing a part all day, and all I wanted to do when I got home was retreat into my bed. I feel like I've been doing that for a while now

I actually had the physical feeling of taking the mask off happen last Thursday. I left work, I did some shopping to get things for the holiday weekend, and when I got home, as soon as I turned my car off and pulled the key out, I literally felt a weight come off my shoulders

I'm pretty sure I'm masking at work. I'm adopting a happier, more cheerful, more amiable, more neurotypical persona at work to get by. My friends have told me I'm neurodivergent in some way, but I've never actually been formally diagnosed, and given the state of things, I'm not about to get one now

I imagine it would be pretty boring to watch me go through the same levels all over again, so I'm curious what we should do. Would you like me to continue on with Galaxy (playing as Luigi is the only way to 100% the game), or should I move on to something else? Let me know what you think.

So we just recently finished up Mario's half of Super Mario Galaxy and unlocked Luigi. Luigi goes through the exact same levels as Mario with only a few differences in how Luigi controls and the Cosmic Comet races being a bit more challenging. I'm curious if I should go through with Luigi's quest.
