I've always hated these Bet365 ads, but now the narrator is lashing out against "Kevin" -- and the gauntlet's now been thrown, motherfucker.

LOL with how lousy and un-fun watching these last two games have been, the Guardians should've just let the White Sox win the division so that I could get on with the Cavs seas... oh wait... 😩 😩 😩

Our first dance. October 3, 2015. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Mary and me dancing on Oct 3, 2015. Mary has gorgeous long black hair and has her head leaning against my lower right cheek. Her veil is perched to the back. I'm wearing glasses, beard short. My tux has a silver bowtie and a red rose attached to my lapel. I have my glance down, and it looks like I'm about to close my eyes.

Seeing this, even if it’s not 100% ready, is exciting. There’s still a lot to be done -- but my next collection, There’s No Future Where We Don’t Have Fire, is on @unsolicitedpress.bsky.social’s list for 2027!

A snapshot on the Unsolicited Press site: "UP.27.07.27" which is the pub date.

Title: There's No Future Where We Don't Have Fire by Kevin A. Risner

Then on the side: Form / Poetry, Release / July 2027, Record / Mailed In, Archive Note / Desires to Locate the Infinitesimal Flashes of Light. My visual life (cover) not yet released.

I’ll be sharing more as things start ramping up for the release. But we’re getting there. And I’m so excited for you to see these poems! Get ready for the fire. 🔥🔥🔥

It's wild. My wife battled for over a month with insurance to get eye mite medicine covered. Wound up paying less than the "covered amount" would have been by going to CVS and taking part in a lower-prescription program there.

It's wild seeing all this footage at the Jersey Shore (and knowing exact locations being inundated). We were just returning from our vacation in the Cape May County area exactly a month ago. Shows you how quickly things can change weather-wise... :-\

It's quite unfortunate to be a relief pitcher and have the surname Blewett. Sam Blewett is on now ... and the score is tied. ;-)

As someone who went through it, I promise you, it was an occupation. Looked and felt like we were being overtaken. I’m still triggered as are SO many of us. I am changed from it, it was absolute terror.

Am I the only person (apart from my wife) who don't do flu and COVID shots at the same time? It's just been habit now after 2022 -- get COVID first, then a few weeks later flu.

Joke's on me, tho. Some random dude walking his dog decided to stop right where our alliums are and let it rifle around the plants. As I was doing yardwork in another garden bed. Only 100 ft. away. Who does this?! And why would you act shocked when I ask you not to let your dog ruin our vegetation!?

I enjoyed the karmic loss the Browns had today. I truly, truly did. They lost any sort of support from me after they brought Watson here, and I'm glad that Watson continues to showcase his worth.

Off I go into the weeds of manuscript edits for There’s No Future Where We Don’t Have Fire! It’ll be here in less than a year thanks to @unsolicitedpress.bsky.social! 🔥🔥🔥

A black TÜL pen, clicked open, rest on the first poem of part I of my book, There's No Future Where We Don't Have Fire. The poem is "Dawn Again."

They say
"Read sky in the morning"
but I'm not a sailor.

Nature has a way of catching seagulls
so I don’t have to
see endless streams of them
on the beach at low tide.

Earth sheds its treasures
littered on a few miles of sand.
August haze floats over the horizon
and spray flings out to catch my feet
when I lay a towel down. And soon the sun
will dry everything up, every single thing.

It takes an ocean not to break.

Every year, my wife and I stare at each other,
say it’s about time we make it back
and reach our hands out
toward the endlessness of the ocean.

We’re moths. Our footsteps sink
into the dry, glowing packets that become
a more hardened surface. But that’s where
the waves crash ashore. Cassandra said something,
“take warning” maybe? But no one listens.

You’ll see everyone strewn about,
stuck and surrounded by planks of houses,
wayward limbs, and the oil.
A lot of oil.
No one ever fucking listens.

I had planned to attend two digital events tonight -- but something HUGE came up. I feel so bad, because I wanted to go to both of these things. The best part though is that both are recorded, and I can view them after the fact.
