Educators. Some of us may have struggles with phones and AI in our classes but camera glasses take it to a different level. Beyond behaviour and academic integrity, it's about privacy and safety in and out of the classroom. District leaders need to be on top of handling this, cuz the kids will be.

Planning to submit a poster presentation proposal to 2027 @asianstudies.org Conference. This will be my first time writing a conference proposal. I am a K-12 Asian Studies educator not doing any formal academic work so I guess I am really an independent scholar right now. Any tips or suggestions?

Sad to hear the passing Bobby Cox. While most remember him with the Braves, Bobby played a key role in the Blue Jays history by bringing a winning attitude and developing the key players of the mid 1980s teams, including 99 wins in 1985. RIP and thanks for the memories. #BlueJays

As Will Klein comes in for Dodgers, he was seen as a hero going 4 scoreless during that epic WS game 3. By that point half of our lineup was the bench, including Straw, IKF, and Heineman. Few people mention Eric Lauer went 4 2/3 scoreless against full LA line-up. But Jays lost so be it. #BlueJays

Alejandro Kirk is the one position player the Blue Jays can least afford to lose, even more than Vladdy because of the position he plays. Wish him a quick recovery. The other guys need to step up big time. Look forward to seeing what the young catcher Valenzuela can do. #BlueJays

I am really curious about the #BlueJays bench. Obviously answer seems to be Heineman, Schneider, Lukes, and Straw. Except we would be really thin in middle infield especially at shortstop. That is a lot of pressure on Clement and Gimenez.

Coming to Vancouver for #AAS2026? If travelling light, I highly recommend taking the Skytrain directly from YVR airport to conference site (and nearby hotels). Only $10 CAD, clean, comfortable. Takes only 30 mins and way cheaper than taxi or Uber. 2 zone fare, get off at last stop, 5 min walk.

As a teacher we expect support and empathy from our administrators. Most admin I have worked with try their best to support. From time to time we can reciprocate too. Sometimes we have no idea the problems that they have to deal with beyond our classroom. They are humans too.

HS teachers... I caught S cheating on a test (looked at notes on his phone) and took away his test right away. What would you do? Chance to re-write? If so, any conditions? I feel there should be consequence, but 0 would significantly affect grade (15%) for a senior with implications for uni apps.

Thinking about how to contribute more to workplace culture in new year. If you walk down the hall at your school/university and your colleague makes no attempt at eye contact, do you still say hi or keep walking? Would you attempt to make conversation with a unfamiliar colleague at the copier?
