Mary reached for her pump action umbrella. A bead of sweat trickled down her forehead. “You know what’s good about a spoon full of sugar?” She asked, loading the weapon. “It makes the medicine go down.”

Looks like a bunch of folks don’t like the look of the remastered Witcher 3 update. I installed it tonight on my 5070ti and it looks stunning with ray tracing on. Maybe it needs HDR or something? Huge improvement to me. Hope they don’t nerf it.

I think we aren’t mat at AI. We are mad at big tech companies ruining everything they touch. AI tools can be run without data centers and without gobbling up the internet. AI coding isn’t all “vibes” if you know what you are doing. It’s a tool. These takes are sanctimonious.

Was bored this weekend so I poked around the filthy comic boxes at my local antique mall. Found some Sam Kieth comics for next to nothing. (Except for that one booth that apparently knew what they had.)

Everyone advocating piracy seems to forget the time when ISPs would send you nasty grams via snail mail threatening fines and internet service shut down because you downloaded a couple episodes of True Blood.

Glad I cancelled Disney+ a long time ago. You know what doesn’t have commercials? Blu-rays. Well, they have something similar at the beginning called “trailers.” I don’t get it either. Physical media is weird like that.

When listening on my iphone with airpods, my mac would take them over any time I opened Amazon in the browser. (Mac airpod seamless switching feature.) It was annoying. I bet they were doing the same thing as AliExpress. It stopped doing that recently. I wonder why … arstechnica.com/security/202...

Is the technique outdated? Yes. Is it still creepy? Also yes.

A good day thrifting. The used media stores down the road had some gems. The Mel Brooks collection wasn’t cheap, but I traded in some stuff for credit. Straight Talk (Dolly Parton) was 6 bucks! Jojo Rabbit is an all time favorite. I kinda regret getting Tank Girl new. Oh, well!

Supposedly the character designs in the Ocarina remake are at least partially inspired by Japanese theatrical puppets…which is fine, but comes across as grotesque when you lose that matte handmade wooden look and infuse everything with so much unnatural and unappealing glossy/wet detail.

Drove to a nearby town for a used media store's holiday buy 2 get 1 free sale & found some absolute treasures. Stuff I've been seeking for a while. Another thrift shop had some things too. I know the Rock will be on 4k soon, but $5 is better than whatever the 4k will cost. #physicalMedia

"a bunch" "a variety" "a swath" This "many people are saying" journalism is for the birds. They quote two people. This is the type of free marketing you get when you can't let go of "people dislike this and we can capitalize on it if we pretend like it's a movement!"

Meanwhile, engineers have admitted that model collapse with this Ai is inevitable. Meaning it ALWAYS eats itself and goes insane as it starts eating its own slop. This makes it largely useless at massive scale, as many of us already know. But the promise of it “getting better” is evaporating.
