I agree completely. Having tax dollars go to something productive or otherwise good for society would be best. But given the choice between Israel genocide effort or a penalty for bullshit lawsuits, I want it to go to the lawsuit settlement.

So, this red dyed diesel thing, are they expecting gas stations to start carrying it? We had red dyed diesel delivered to a fuel tank on the farm and filled tractors from there. I've only ever seen clear Diesel at gas stations. It just seems like another empty promise.

Basically, when people complain about prices the minimum wage gets raised and they stop complaining about higher prices. People started complaining about prices, but minimum wage wasn't adjusted so we're still complaining about prices.

Minimum wage was raised in 78, 79, 80, and 81. The next time affordability was an issue minimum wage was raised in 90 and 91, again in 96 and 97. GFC happened and minimum wage was raised in 07, 08, and 09. Minimum wage hasn't moved in 17 years.

We don't pay taxes to fund the government. WE DON'T PAY TAXES TO FUND THE GOVERNMENT! Taxes are a way to get money out of the economy in order to curb inflation. The bond market is another tool for sidelining money from the economy for a similar goal, but that market is currently failing.

I would go one step further and say it's not because a bag of chips is $6, but because all the other costs associated with living are getting so high that a $6 bag of chips becomes unaffordable. If my mortgage was $400 less per month, think of all the chips I could buy!

So, the water part is super misleading. All the data centers in planning will use about as much water as New York City. So, not that much water in the grand scheme. That being said, data centers are being built in places with poor infrastructure that can't support them.
