Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal and his government has committed genocide in Gaza. The United States should stop all military assistance to Israel. Saying this is not antisemitic. (I’m Jewish, by the way.)

Israeli president pardons combat medic who shot dead wounded Palestinian attacker
Elor Azaria’s conviction in 2017 for manslaughter of man who stabbed soldier continues to divide country Israel’s president has pardoned a combat medic who shot dead a badly wounded Palestinian attacker who had stabbed a soldier in the occupied West Bank, in a case that divided the country a decade ago. Elor Azaria’s conviction in 2017 for manslaughter and his release after serving two-thirds of his 18-month sentence drew enormous attention in Israel, where military service is compulsory for most Jewish men. Would like P¡nk to explain what she believes is occurring in Gaza. Everyone who criticizes the word “genocide” stops their tirade before providing others with their preferred word for what we should call a powerful well-funded military casually exterminating a mostly-unarmed populace.

Ed Miliband’s statement on Israel is only a first step. We need to go further: a full ban on goods, services & investment. Labour is still shamefully refusing to recognise the Gaza genocide. We must have a full arms embargo, full sanctions & an end to military collaboration.

The UK government ceasing automatically to support almost anything the government of Israel does is a major shift. The next step should be to rescind the ban on #PalestineAction, to stop treating protesters as terrorists, and to acknowledge that those seeking to disrupt a genocide may have a point.

We all make mistakes, but journalism is a process of verification and the journalist, editors and publishers all failed badly here. The fact that NO-ONE asked the obvious question - "did her solicitor actually say that, and if so, why was she IN SYRIA?!)" - until Tony did is very worrying.

So Irish Examiner journalist Alison O’Reilly hears a solicitor, Gavin Booth say that the suspect in the car bomb case ‘spent time in Saoradh.’ She, being kind, misheard him and reports it as time in Syria. The misreporting (still up, btw) goes around the world and media shrugs. Bizarre

To call Chaim Herzog a hero is less about the past than the kind of politics our leaders wish to obstruct in the present – a politics of solidarity that sees continuity between the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 and ongoing genocide in Gaza today. www.ontheditch.com/comment-in-t...

This one has LAYERS
“I was driving down the road when all of a sudden I looked up from my phone and saw this guy walking in the lane right in front of me, when there was a perfectly good sidewalk right next to him,” said one eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous because his driver’s licence is currently suspended for a DUI. “Right as I was about to lay on my horn and scream at him and threaten to kill him and his entire family, I noticed that the sidewalk was actually full of cyclists riding on it and the bike lane was blocked by a parked car. Well, I say car but does a cybertruck count as a car?”The pedestrian said that having to walk in the road was an added insult to injury, as they were only walking because their bus never showed up. The pedestrian also did not want to be identified for fear of being accused of vandalizing the parked cybertruck. “I wasn’t trying to, I just had to lean on it for support as I stepped over a garbage bag and then the whole back panel fell off. I would have tried to put it back on but the exposed wires immediately started sparking up.”
