I've had a couple clients talk to me about how they used AI "as a tool" to write their songs for them, and they want to actually record themselves playing it. It's such a foreign concept to me, like why would you outsource the creative part of making art? It's kinda the whole point imo

Yeah man I understand how that goes. For a while I did tracking for my own stuff in a disgustingly hot room in a warehouse full of practice spaces lol. Was dreaming of a dedicated space like I have now. Which currently feels too small 😅

For sure. A lot of that requires some thought about how you plan to use it in the mix later. I keep a pair of room mics hidden behind my corner traps, so I'm always ready to add some natural ambience with minimal setup. But the actual performance matters more than any of that stuff honestly.

Ran outdoor live sound for Brewstock music festival aaaallll day yesterday. My first festival FOH gig, sounded great and we kept everything on time somehow!? Helped that we had multiple stagehands and a dedicated monitor mix engineer. Just a bit easier than doing everything myself!

Learned and tracked two high energy hard rock/metalcore songs on drums today. Nothing toooo difficult but it takes time to learn the parts and energy to play convincingly, and always more of both than I expect.

Yet another killer song by Asheville NC pop punk band Drowning Leo! As usual, the band tracked live at the studio, and then we overdubbed guitars and vocals. Sonically, it’s bouncy and upbeat. Lyrically? Well, let's just say I was adamant about joining in on the gang vocals for this one.
