i just cannot conceptualise the belief (usually held by people who've NEVER had online friends) that the rapport & moral support we've built over almost a decade isn't "real" esp since when most of us met, we were the only people in the WORLD who knew each other's gender. that's a big deal!

there's roughly 4-5 trans people i've known since i was SIXTEEN, have maintained contact with across countless websites & accounts, and STILL communicate with on a regular basis despite never once meeting in person i don't see how you could NOT consider that "real"
