Both should be alive. And the ones still under the rubble, whose names exist only in the memories of people who may not have survived to speak them. Writing a check is one of the least costly forms of solidarity available to me. I am doing it because I can, and because these organizations are doing the work while much of the world debates it.
But aid alone cannot address the conditions that make it necessary. This is a manmade injustice, and I believe it requires immediate political change. Started a fitness challenge this week and am dragging my parents, sister and probably BIL along for the ride. We’re gonna lift things and hopefully be a little stronger and healthier come November. Did my first strength session since Baggins was diagnosed…and it felt good to have a distraction.

I always wonder what makes people block me…because I swear I rarely catch blocks after I’ve said something more controversial I would expect pushback from. It’s always after something innocuous like a photo of tomatoes from the garden or the comment that Wikipedia wasn’t working.
