EAM @elizmcmahill.bsky.social · 05/10/2026You'd think that with all the instructions and examples the IRS would tell you if you should staple, paperclip, or leave your tax forms loose - but no, as far as I can tell, they don't! 100

EAM @elizmcmahill.bsky.social · 04/10/2026There are so many good ones.... Kids in the Hall is like, transcendental comedy. A few years back my partner put on the dvds and it blew my mind. (I hadn't grown up with it and never heard of it before then.) EAM @elizmcmahill.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Seeing dystopian stuff in the timeline again imagining how it may feel to be a young person in all of this, where you maybe don't have a sense of normalcy beyond your limited experience. Anyways, I really recommend the 2024 film Happyend. It's a nearby dystopian story with a lot of teen heart.m.youtube.comHAPPYEND (2024) | Trailer | Neo SoraYouTube video by Film Movement 001
EAM @elizmcmahill.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Seeing posts about the daily wire's pro ice film... and I'm reminded, they have a history of misrepresenting their projects to the workers on them. You have to be really carefull out there... it's easy to sign on to something only to find out later what it's for. 010
EAM @elizmcmahill.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Canada is getting cold and I don't like it (my brain gears down and my nose starts dripping the second it goes below 68F). Winter will be ok though, there will be lots of time for computer, which I have not had lately. 020

Best case is it's usually 2-3 years, if it's lucky enough to get picked up. 110

![more notes I wrote to my future self at the bottom of dummy form 8955
- Even working abroad the PORTION of your work for US CLIENTS is QBI (qualified business income) because it is connected to/directed at the US market.
- You cannot claim QBI on income you claimed FEIE on [Foreign earned income exclusion, aka form 2555]. You can claim on the averages or adjust - but NO double dipping.
- You have to pay SE tax regardless of it being foreign work (...verify with Canada...)
- If making a lot it may make more sense to not take the full FEIE and take more of it as QBI instead.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3jueturnao6gcgt2pcgrso7y/bafkreih4pmv3tccivts5hg5uaglm6vfe4jjdxtmulz5mbayy2fjyklrkue)
