Once upon a time, I was joking around and told my phone “Hey Siri, remember that I was nice to you when the robot revolution comes” and it created a reminder about it. It’s been like this for years now, but every time I see it, it amuses me so I’ve kept it. For both of us. Whoever needs to remember.

Honestly, Hollander is the realest for this.
“Last question, Shane: What does Montreal have to do to win tonight?”
Shane put on his best “thinking” face, to give the impression that he certainly hadn’t expected this question. “Get the puck to the net, take shots, stay out of the penalty box...” Score more goals than the other team before the game ends. “We’re in good shape tonight, everyone is healthy, so I think we’re definitely going to make it tough for Boston.”
“Thank you, Shane, and good luck tonight.”
“Thanks, Chris.”
Shane tried not to begrudge these interviews.

The region seems to have exactly no feelings about the Super Bowl this year. This bar is replaying Super Bowl XLIX.

I am 0% joking when I say that for-profit health insurance was genuinely a source of PTSD in my life that made it difficult for me to check the mail for years, but that's what getting a letter saying your $1.2 million claim has been denied can do. But thanks for this email, BCBS. IN THIS DYSTOPIA?!
Screenshot of an email from my health insurance company. There is a header image that shows a child hugging what appears to be their mother, with the title "Overcoming stigma together" and "Understanding Trauma".
The remainder of the email text read as:

It is more common than you may think.
Trauma can be experienced by both adults and children, and it can take different forms. Major traumas include accidents, natural disasters, violence, abuse and neglect. People can also endure microtraumas, which are a build-up of events that may not feel hurtful right away, but take a toll over time. They often go unnoticed. Some examples are bullying, discrimination, money issues and unhealthy relationships.

No matter the trauma, it can feel like stress, worry, fear and even irritability. It is normal to experience these feelings in moderation. But if they become overwhelming, unmanageable or get in the way of daily life, it can be a sign that someone has post-traumatic stress disorder.

PTSD affects 3.6% of adults in the U.S. — about 9 million people. Research shows women are more likely to experience it than men.1

Here are some of the signs of PTSD2:

Strawberry plants in this config are a lot less prolific than when we just let them take over a whole 4x8’ planter box, but it’s way kinder to my aging millennial back. I appreciate it needing to lay on the floor after collecting strawberries.

The strawberries are looking fire this year. We replanted them to this trough-on-the-fence setup 2 falls ago, and so last spring they were like “no, it’s a rebuilding year, go away, maybe we’ll get an o-line in next year’s draft.” WE’RE BACK BABY. With a more middle-aged friendly vertical harvest.
