Dungeon Crawler Carl report: Super fun system. A lot of rules are hard to find, spread out between the 4 books, or aren't stated, so you make it up as you go. Which works surprisingly well so far. There are some adjustments I'll make between this session and next, mostly to give them more […]

Inevitably when running a game, I have to make a rules call that I look up later. Usually, I learn that my call wasn't completely correct and have to adjust. Players are usually cool about it, especially when it's a new system. Last night, by magic or maybe just luck, every one of my calls was […]

Running the Dungeon Crawler Carl #carlrpg later today in person. I have no idea how it'll go, so I'm printing a bunch of stuff and ready to fly by the seat of my pants. If it's good enough for Matt Dinneman, it's good enough for me!

NEEEEW ACHIEVEMENT! My CarlRPG game has enough players, so we are a go! If you're interested in playing the new Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG, there's still time to sign up! $25/session, Sundays at 11 AM PST (maybe biweekly?) #ttrpgs #carlrpg #dungeoncrawlercarl […]

Discworld RPG: Are You There, Bel-Shamharoth? This weekend, I went to my favorite localish game convention, Strategicon, and ran the new Discworld TTRPG, Adventures in Ankh-Morpork. I ran 3 sessions-- two were scheduled, and the third was a pickup game at Games on Demand, due to having to turn […]

I have typically really enjoyed tabletop games that aren't officially licensed products, or which are "serial numbers filed off," but recently-- probably due to a deluge of #TTRPG licensing deals-- backed a bunch that are in various stages of fulfillment, and I am STOKED for some of them: (1/2)

If your #ttrpg rulebook is 650 pages long after all your stretch goals and nonsense, you need to split it up into 2 or more books and also be more aggressive in your editing. Nobody wants to try to pass a 3" thick tome around the table. Nobody is shoving that into a backpack. The glue isn't […]

It was finally under 90F this morning at 7 AM, so I went out and got a run in! First run since August 1st. I'm sad to be missing the 5K I signed up for tomorrow. I switched to a virtual race for August, which just isn't the same, but I'll take it as a backup plan for this month's race.

Lyr has a problem. And his name is Bodrin Goldhand. Her other problem is a god. Who isn't exactly thrilled by her lack of devotion to his cause. Add a few dozen monsters, some Dark Elves, and a host of betrayal and heartache... and it's just another day at the adventuring company. Join Lyr and her friends as they fight evil... and sometimes each other!

Of the 669 Kickstarter projects I've backed (just KS, not any other #crowdfunding platform), fewer than 30 have completely failed to deliver and seem dead. Now, maybe I'm just lucky, or I don't back projects that seem too risky (def. not the case...) I also don't *usually* back at a tier that […]

New espinner! The EEW Fold is a beautiful little machine, feels very sturdy. I can't wait to use it for some serious spinning! #handspinning #FiberArts

Two electronic spinners for making yarn, both in teal or light blue. The one on the left is about 1/3 larger than the one on the right. The smaller spinner has a grey bobbin with lots of sparkly purple yarn on it. The larger spinner has a purple bobbin that is empty. There's a very small metal device between them that is the foot pedal for the larger one.

An espinner has a somewhat rectangular base, a motor that spins a pulley that is connected with a drive band to a two-armed device above it called a flyer, which spins to twist the sheep's wool, or fiber into yarn. The bobbin is on a shaft that runs down the center of the fleet and spins or stops spinning based on the tension of the person spinning. When it stops, the yarn winds onto the bobbin.

Also, I recently played Sticky Business, which is a very cute, cozy video game about running a sticker business. This is my favorite sticker I've made on there. I'm not even ace and I love this sticker. #stickybusiness #cozygames #stickers #asexual

An image of the asexual pride flag, with black, grey, white, and purple horizontal stripes, with a curve as if in the wind. Printed in white letters on the black band of the flag is the word "Wholesome." In the lower left corner is a cluster of four mushroom types, including a common button mushroom and a red capped mushroom with white spots. The image is bordered in white, as if it's a sticker. At the bottom of the image are the words "made with Sticky Business" in purple, followed by a star icon in yellow.
