Why does dopamineshop.co have no 'about us' link? Interesting concept. I would have a contest to see who could fill up a cart the fastest with no duplicate items (dozen eggs counts as 1) and get closest to $1 mil without going over.

Reminds me of what Matt Groening had one of his characters say in "Life in Hell": "Yes means no and no means yes: Do you want me to hit you?" (Yes, this is in the famous and unfortunately non-googlable "Lies my Older Brother and Sister Told Me" episode. The last lie is classic trump.)

Woke up a dream where I was making paint pigments from scratch with author Sheila Heti, who was showing me how to get the pHs correct. I believe this dream was intended for someone else and there was a mixup at the factory

Not going to go throught the timeline, but lemme explain the point of red diesel. It's sold with less tax because it's intended for farm vehicles that don't use the publicly funded roads. Which are funded partly by that tax. It's dyed red so the cops can tell you're on a public road unlawfully

Actually I have to quibble. The last year where you could spend a summer delivering pizzas listening only to top 40 was 1984. 1983 was just a prelude.

If you're planning a trip to Tokyo and want to see the Studio Ghibli museum, tickets go on sale on the 10th of every month for entry in the following month. Except if you're reading this, it's probably the 9th for you. Don't ask how I know this.

If it's Uyghur food you're craving and the West End is more convenient, there's a newish stall on the second floor of the Robson Public Market at Robson & Cardero, across from 9 Dumplings. I didn't notice anything else at Henderson's you can't find at the Parker Place food fair.

Mall Profile #15: Henderson Place, by Justin McElroy
Henderson Place has a good food court, a good design, a good location, and yet, a third to a quarter of all its storefronts are empty. Why?

github.com/golang/go/is... is an interesting issue because it shows how what seems like an innocuous cosmetic change can break other software at a distance. In a world with so much interdependence, it's best to do as little as possible, especially when it comes to messing with code. Even comments.

Paul Allen was a nerd's nerd. He spent his money on things he obsessed on and brought him enjoyment, bringing millions of others along for the ride. Plus in a 90s interview in Wired he owned the mistake that was the backslash for a directory separator, blaming it on his dyslexia

I'll leave it to Justin's expertise to determine the Platonic ideal of mallness. Certainly no one would call that collection of a dollar store, hair salon, and package/mail store in the hallway next to the Save-On at Main & 13th a mall. Isn't Evergreen closer to the Haney mall than that hallway?

Also Henderson Mall in Coquitlam a couple of blocks from the regional centre is notable for how mostly empty it's been from what I hear is its whole life. I went for the Uighur spot in the food court, but now there's a more centrally located one in the Robson Public Market. Just as good.

Hey @songfishapp.com you misspelled "Canadian" and Montreal isn't a capital city (re release 1.25). But as someone who advocates using names from different categories in test suites, I approve in general. (Think kigali, luanda, gaborone, etc. instead of "test1", "test2", "test3" )

In the 80s at U of Toronto Urban Geog Prof. Spelt showed us a slide of cars on a Netherlands street at night. Their lights were a little brighter than parking lights but dimmer than the non-bright headlights used at the time. Of course the Dutch had this figured out 40 years ago
