Woke up a dream where I was making paint pigments from scratch with author Sheila Heti, who was showing me how to get the pHs correct. I believe this dream was intended for someone else and there was a mixup at the factory

Not going to go throught the timeline, but lemme explain the point of red diesel. It's sold with less tax because it's intended for farm vehicles that don't use the publicly funded roads. Which are funded partly by that tax. It's dyed red so the cops can tell you're on a public road unlawfully

If you're planning a trip to Tokyo and want to see the Studio Ghibli museum, tickets go on sale on the 10th of every month for entry in the following month. Except if you're reading this, it's probably the 9th for you. Don't ask how I know this.

Henderson Place has a good food court, a good design, a good location, and yet, a third to a quarter of all its storefronts are empty. Why?

github.com/golang/go/is... is an interesting issue because it shows how what seems like an innocuous cosmetic change can break other software at a distance. In a world with so much interdependence, it's best to do as little as possible, especially when it comes to messing with code. Even comments.

Hey @songfishapp.com you misspelled "Canadian" and Montreal isn't a capital city (re release 1.25). But as someone who advocates using names from different categories in test suites, I approve in general. (Think kigali, luanda, gaborone, etc. instead of "test1", "test2", "test3" )

The smoked duck bao bun at the Chef James stall at the Richmond Night Market is the best thing I've had there since I tried octopus takoyaki at an Osaka-street-food stall around 2001 when the Vancouver area market was just starting up. Will definitely go back there and get the 4-pack deal.

50 years ago this week a Eugene Oregon hippie named Duane taught me to juggle and in retrospect changed my life. Yes, "morspin" is my juggling name, arrived at separately by many club-passing partners before I finally got the technique down. Still at it and still learning in 2026

The pet shop gave me a sample of "beef + hoki" cat food. Never heard of, it's a fish from New Zealand. Got some from the local fishmonger, marinaded it overnight, mixed it up with rice and chopped vegetables and turned out a nice hoki poké. That's what it's all about.
