I'm dressed nice for Jazz tonight! Emmet Cohen, a pianist from New York and his combo are performing tonight.

There's an abandoned sammich on a ledge. Well hey, SOMEONE likes it.

The person who bought this chickwich took one, big, half-moon bite, noped out, and left it on a ledge in an elevator hallway. But there's a little green ladybug crawling in it and eagerly gorging on the bun. I did not know there are green ladybugs, or that they like buns.

The lap markers are still there. I guess the gardening staff hasn't noticed, or does not mind. I have not talked about it here yet, but I'm grieving a recent loss. Walking churchyard laps in proper flowy blacks is a reasonably healthy way to dwell on memories and sublimate sadness.

The witchy natural lap markers I'm leaving remain on the churchyard path! Today on day 5, I've left an S curve of thirteen stones for 13 laps, just over 2 miles.

12 laps around the churchyard, 12! I have over doubled my laps in 4 days! 12! I am a slow-moving barge indeed. It took me well over an hour, but I made 2 miles today, and did not sit down to rest while walking. I also figured out a different witchy way to count today's laps.

Progress! 5 rocks, seven pieces of tanbark, 10 twig tally marks, and 2 six piece acorn flowers! I have not yet summoned any demons or corrupted any priests. To my knowledge.

In small triumph fast-n-dirty crafty news, these two ginormo orange faux Chrysanthemums are now glue-felt-backed with cheep brooch pins, and can OTT my hat to go with my OTT dress.

A Pair of ridonkulously large, hot orange faux chrysanthemums frame a more demure but also large faux cream-colored peony on a wide brimmed crocheted rafia shade-hat. Fabulous, or clowny, whatever, I'm DELIGHTED.

The hat matches the dress, AND the adorbs, shamelessly bright, sculpted fimo, flower earrings my sister gave me! Her general style is far more demure, but she UNDERSTANDS me!

Oh yes. I am officially a hard-to-miss clown show queen today in my seventies style orange and green short dress with gargantuan bell sleeves and the flower hat and earrings. All shall love me and despair.

I stubbornly hemmed a Free People "One Clover" skirt from my alterations stash this past week. These whisper-light, viscose voile skirts have lushly-gathered, asymmetric, ruffled hems with, (growl) raw edges. That's SUPPOSED to be boho, but they just fray horribly. Except for MINE. Photo of the hem's raw edge. The skirt stayed in its packaging right until I was ready to work on it, and it's already fraying. Reviews show these skirts completely ruined if washing is attempted. Jeezis. WHY?!

Yet I adore them as light floof layers. And I DO have time for handwork. Photo shows me clipping the hem into place, ready to be sewn.

And done!! Photo shows me wearing the fresh-celery-green skirt as God intended, layered all princessy with other ruffly floof skirts, and no longer in danger of disintegrating into a heap of frayed threads!

I bought dried pea flowers to make my chamomile tea blue. These worked great! I used just 5 wee flowers, and to get that bright blue, I microwaved them in a cup with a small amount of water for half a minute before adding more tea-hot water and the teabag to color the tea.

Omg this blue is SOMETHIN' in a clear glass mug!! Apparently pea flower is an acid base indicator. I hear the color will turn purple with the addition of citrus like orange or lemon.

Being able to sew is good. I love the leafy, sophisticated, and feminine cutwork-over-lace look of this top, but those ridonkulous first-day-of-kindergarten puffed-cap-sleeves HAD to go. So I saw to that. Details in ALT text

Photo shows a dusty blue cutwork top, one sleeve cut off, displayed on a patterned rug. I cut the sleeves off, following their own inner seam line for a seam allowance. I zigzagged the edge, and sewed the zigzagged edge under with a simple straight stitch. Despite all that intimidating, fancy cutwork, the project was an easy fix with a sewing machine, for the fabric is regular cotton lawn, no jersey stretch or chiffon fraying.

I love the top as a tank over a dusty rose layer paired with these floral print linen pants!

Honestly, I think the puffypoof cap sleeves were even childlike and goofy on the model, despite her modeling the top over bare skin. But I could see how lovely the cutwork was, plus sale-on-sale pricing, and confidence in my basic ability with Odette the sewing machine made me get it anyway. Glad I did!

A photo of two dissected flower bouquets, hung up to dry, upside down, so the weight of the blossoms does not make the stems fold over and look all sad. Lazy work. They're against a surface, so they won't dry perfectly radially symmetric, but I'll probably make them into a dried bouquet or use them in collage, so I'm good if they have a pressed side. I just used painter's bue tape. The roses, ferns, and the blue strawflowers should dry quite well; I have not tried hydrangeas or sunflowers before. We shall see!

Hey Trixie! I gave Lily a beaded dress! The dress is a dazzler, but I seldom wear it, for my braid catches on the beading. (I can wear it up, but that solution means going without a hat, and we can't have that, now, can we?)
