I have reached the annual point in my thesis writing where I stress out. I am now crocheting a new six foot scarf. Sort of inspired by Dunk’s shield in AKTOSK. I will make tassels. Like…. Thirty of them.

Today, August 4, 2026, is the setting of Ray Bradbury’s short story “There Will Come Soft Rains” about a fully automated house continuing on after the family who lived there and the world around it died in a nuclear blast.

I got back into my thesis today -> cried for two hours. I went out instead. Now I have new cushions for kitchen chairs and possibly a new orange couch. What if I just drop out and become a toad. I’d like to be a toad. Or a frog. Or one of those flies in Cars. Cos they’re VW bugs. They’re blue.

Ah, yes Andy. Because the Shire just sprouted out of the ground with the white people already there. It’s not like they’ve ever migrated and settled there. It *feels white* TO YOU. Because you’re a white, middle aged, racist man. And one who CLEARLY does not know the source material.

Susie💍 @moriondor.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

Andy Serkis saying "The Shire feels very much… very white.“ Despite having narrated the fucking books WHERE IT SAYS THAT HOBBITS OF COLOR EXIST??? Him being a racist was not on my bingo card. I am so disappointed I want to scream.

Morgoth had many servants, the oldest and most potent of whom were immortal ... Thus it was that the histories speak of Great Orcs or Orc-captains who were not slain, and who reappeared in battle through years far longer than the span of the lives of Men. [Morgoth's Ring]

I wrote something to purposely test it for AI. What the fuck is this? I am so offended I can’t say. I have a fucking literature degree. I have studied linguistics, grammar and syntax. For six years. I do realize that this is probably bullshit, but still. My biggest fear is so be accused of this.

I don’t even have the grammar to properly explain how the meeting went. Remove 20 pages. Write 4 new ones. If you have questions I am off until August 10. This is wrong. But you said it was correct last time. No. What is this? You said I should put it in. No, remove it.

Advisor meeting tomorrow. He’s currently going through my documents (I get emails), and he’s up to 30+ comments. Pray for me. He will go back on what he’s said before and I need to prepare for that and try not to break mentally. I am tired😾

I’ve seem to have accidentally started my Aziracrow werewolf fic instead of cleaning my windows. This is the opposite of a problem. I am no longer possessed by unintelligible hay-day James Joyce.

I want to write fanfic but the words won’t appear👹 I crave a long fic. Full of drama. Reincarnation tropes and over the top screamy declarations of love. LET ME HAVE THE WORDS. I read like I’ve been possessed by James Joyce mid Finnegan’s Wake. If you know me this speaks volumes cos I detest him.

Went to the dentist. Nothing wrong with my teeth. It’s stress. The stress causes me to clench my jaw too tight and then it hurts. This thesis is gonna end me. Hair loss, eczema on my hands, migraines and jaw pain? I’m waiting for a review and technically I am free but the stress doesn’t leave🫡
