It's my last day at @acmedsci.bsky.social! it's been a privilege to work with such brilliant people at this influential organisation. I've learned so much, never had the sunday scaries and am so grateful for this chapter :)

Lovely to interview Crick scientist turned MP Lauren Sullivan (@laurensullivanmp.bsky.social). “We know the Stem pipeline is leaky", she tells me. These leaks, “can occur from how we teach science and maths to kids” if that teaching does not meet the goal of “inciting curiosity”.

Think this looks a v sensible appointment. David was at the launch of the @wellcometrust.bsky.social report on how to regulate emerging science & tech, and seemed to really get the need for more anticipatory regulation in this area. RIO set to play a role in supporting AI innovations into the NHS

I loved working at @acmedsci.bsky.social so much I went back for a second spell – a great environment to work on policy with impact for medical science. There’s a wealth of expertise in the fellowship, opportunities to collaborate with a range of different orgs, not to mention a free lunch too!
