Kismet! I have A BIG MEDIA STORY coming out tomorrow!

I feel sad about it! I mean, I love her. But I don’t like, “like,” her. Her energy is not my vibe! I just vastly prefer the sweet Eyore-ness of Flannery to Biddy. I’ve never felt this way about a pet before! Is this how parents feel about their kids?!

She is an actual pick-me B, but like if a leech had giant springs as their suckers. She has to be on me or on Flannery or playing with us at all times she is out of her crate. And I have a crate schedule to try to give couple hours in and a couple hours out But when she’s out there is no off.

I am really struggling to like the dog I’ve had for more than a year now. The stray pitty puppy who is now 18-months-old. She is super sweet and happy. But she is non-stop energy and destructive as hell. She never stops. And she is a terrible listener. Oh, I do all the training. She’s just…a lot.

My dogs keep following me around because it’s dark enough they think it’s time for their dinner. Jokes on them. It’s only 1:45, and it’s actually past my bedtime by about three weeks.

Oof! I am sorry to hear! This is what everyone is describing. Feel like a cold, becomes a sinus infection, then bronchitis or pneumonia. And it has lasted a few weeks so far. It falls under the broad RSV category, as tracked by MDH, but I am curious what type of virus specifically and if it’s new?

What is this sickness that is going around? I am spared for now. But so many people are down hard. What is it? Seems early for flu. Is there a new covid strain or?

I normally would, too! But this one had sausage on it. And it wasn't even good when I got it, but after being air-dried it's even less appealing. And possibly "dangerous."

I ordered a large pizza last night because I have no real food in the house and teach till 10pm on Mondays, thinking "I will have food for after class when I am starving." Welp. Just discovered I somehow left the box out on the counter with the pizza in it? So now I hungry. And a loser.

I just spent $175 on Halloween candy. Thanks, Obama. It's gonna be the Gothic Rabbits Halloween over heare again. Last year, I gave out more than 240 bags of candy. And this year it falls on a Saturday. I still feel like I don't have "enough."

Same. Even more so now. Too many years of digging into the systems have made it a struggle to participate in it as it is now. But when I reluctantly go to the polls, Keith feels like the only one I will be voting *for*. Meaning voting “for” others as simply a vote against the rest.

What candidates in MN are you genuinely excited about this election? Not who are you voting for and why. But across the state, what candidates are running on a real policy/advocacy platform that makes you hopeful beyond just not being Trumpian?

Hypothetical. Let’s say the Senate race is a toss-up. Hypothetically. Let’s say the outcome is, hypothetically, disappointing for Dems. Let’s say, hypothetically, Kloby wins governor, and Walz is tasked with appointing someone to the seat. What does he do Hypothetically, would he appoint Flanagan?

This is the Republican "Get out the Vote" strategy.

mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
It is how the Dems fail EVERY TIME. And will continue to fail. There's no winning in a small-margins wins when the Dems continue to fail at standing up against the right-wing media strategies, and the MN media that plays right into it.

mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Minnesota is exactly what they want and need to "go red." Not just in the midterms, but longer term. They are playing a long game. Those narratives are essential for it. No matter how untrue or manipulated or contested, they have already ensured media coverage of it. And that's enough.

I will bet someone a ride in my car filled with La Croix cans, books, items for donation that have been riding with me for three years that the midterm results in Minnesota will once again "surprise" pundits with how Republican it is, despite Trump's low approval ratings.

mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
They Dems are too afraid/too weak to challenge the media and name the ways they play right into it. For more than a year they have been building this narrative, right along with "Somali fraud."
110 0
mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
But the real battle they continue to still loose happens consistently in the media. Today's big press conferences with Ramsey County sheriffs et al is the perfect example of it. The way far-right agendas become cop-fueled media blitzes.
120 0
mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Dems are always too busy playing a numbers game. Thinking the narrowest of victories is how we "win." And the plea is embarrassing. "We have to fight Trump." And you've done what so far?
110 0
mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
He isn't just doing the job Trump wants him to do. He is doing the job the Republican party wants him to do. Not as a broader electoral strategy. But as a way to consistently build and appeal to racist voter fear/anxiety. Because if they build that narrative, the "votes will come."

We can look at how Emmer went on Fox News and talked about "Somali gangs" in July 2025, which became a talking point of Trump's, and created a deeper Republican permission structure for Operation Metro Surge and a federal occupation of MN. But to be clear, Emmer seeded it. And that's intentional.

Emmer sticks with Trump as president escalates attacks on Somali community
Before Trump’s comments, Emmer spent years making inroads in the growing Somali community in his district.

So when we think about a political strategy, there isn't one that can be defined as "political" in the traditional sense. This is a business and power strategy. Trumpism is a power and wealth-hoarding mechanism. White Christian nationality is a power and wealth-hoarding mechanism, etc.

mollypeonies @mollypeonies.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Now, I do not think any of these people have any sort of backbone. They will morph into whatever the wind tells them to become in order to hold on to power. Because the job they are doing has noting to do with actual governing. It's hoarding power and wealth for them and their friends.

Why Tom Emmer’s support for Trump’s 2024 candidacy matters
Ten weeks ago, Donald Trump ruined Tom Emmer's bid for speaker. The House majority whip has now endorsed the former president's 2024 candidacy anyway.

Emmer was nominated for Speaker of the House in 2023, but then "dropped out" after he was sidelined by Trump. Well, he was first sidelined by Laura Loomer who called him a "Never Trumper." Then Trump went on social media and said "It's over. I killed him." Moments later Emmer withdraws.

There's Something Wrong with Tom Emmer. It appears he has been embedded deep into Trump's lap indefinitely. Why? What is he doing? Or what does he "owe" Trump and why? What does he hope to gain? He's not doing it to garner local votes. He's doing something else entirely.

I'm teaching Media Power, Political Narratives, & Public Debate at Metro State, and this year has provided such wild & deep evidence of how media power--and copaganda--operate in MN. I have more to share soon, but first I want to talk about Tom Emmer: www.newsfromthestates.com/article/tom-...

It was great, but it’s been interesting to witness a shift, especially my own, in how we experience concerts. Covid definitely changed it, and it changed how we exist in public. But there’s also the way technology lets/forces us to do so many things at once. Like being at home but at a concert.

The @startribune.com used this tweet by Tom Emmer as a "reliable source" in its crime reporting. Regardless of what the investigation finds or the still-racist framing cops will use, this is dog whistling by a public official so loud it needs to be its own story about racism in MN politics.

If you believe that trans women are automatically better at sports than cis women, you are either a misogynist who believes men are inherently superior to women, brainwashed by bigoted or misogynistic fear mongering, or a bit of both. So please, for the love of god, just shut the fuck up already.

This would be pure comedy gold if it weren't real and entirely enraging. "Liberal" Minnesota men so deft and unwilling to take responsibility and stand up against sexual violence to women they'll place the responsibility on women/everyone as a virtue signal they're "one of the good ones."
Some asshole's FB comment that asks: "WHat does it look like to hold everyone responsible for this culture of violence? What is needed to create a different culture?" LOL.

This quote:
“I would argue that ABA is potentially harmful in any situation because we haven’t really addressed the ethical concerns of the potential mental health consequences,” says Ne’Eman. “But even if we were to set that aside, the idea that there is an evidence base for applying ABA in all instances without regard to any consideration for age or the types of challenges that someone has, it’s just ludicrous.”

“Forty hours a week of therapy is a full-time job for a 3-year-old,” says Ne’Eman. “It’s harmful for kids and families first and foremost, but I also think it’s a poor use of public funds.”
