Flight practice on the water tower 🦉🌃 It appears that two of the young have fledged, as we only observed three Barn Owl kids last night, and saw fewer food drop-offs from the parents, indicating they’re likely making deliveries elsewhere to the fledglings! American Barn Owls, NYC, 10.10.2026 #birds

Barn Owls! in Manhattan! 🦉🌃 This week, a family of Barn Owls was discovered on a water tower in NYC. Two adults and five young ones have been observed/confirmed so far! 10.9.2026, NYC Photos taken at night, using long exposure and ambient light - it is actually VERY dark up there! #birds

Two Canada geese and a mallard duck on a rock in the middle of water that is a dingy green. One goose is standing, staring off into the distance through the sheets of rain falling on and around them. Very normal weather in Central Park yesterday!
Bow Bridge in Central Park, on which people are standing, taking pictures, etc, over part of the lake, on which there are at least seven paddle boats containing multiple people. Sunlight is causing a glare on the water, but the entire scene is under a veil of steady rain.Close up of some dark-green-leafed plants in the rain, that are also being extremely back-lit by the sunlight coming through the background, causing out of focus orbs of light and water. A mulch path next to a rocky stream in Central Park, shrouded on all sides by bright green tree canopy. A ball of white-hot sunlight bursts through the canopy at the top of frame, and the scene appears bright, though it is actively also raining
