Somehow, the world feels like a better place now that I know that a gathering of ladybirds is called a 'loveliness'. So here's a loveliness of ladybirds on a twinklement of stained glass at St. Mary's, Brownshill, Gloucestershire.

Last one for today. Autumn in Halifax by Tim Green. I love the geometric composition of this image. CC BY 2.0
The image shows traditional Yorkshire gritstone and stone-slate terraced buildings rising above a tiered dry-stone retaining wall, set against a backdrop of autumn-coloured woodland hills.

When you’ve got a good subject - say, a fifteenth-century Grade I parish church - you need a good frame. What better frame for a church steeped in toil and industry than a nineteenth-century railway viaduct? ....

Beautiful fan vaulting over the South Door at Tewkesbury Abbey. It's a reconstruction dating from the late 19thC on the site of what would have been the cloisters and uses the fan vaulting at Gloucester Cathedral as a template. #TraceryTuesday

Splendid photo of a splendid baby. Photo from my collection, no date/info.
Black-and-white photo of a shorthaired tabby kitten walking along a wooden beam that is laying on a grass lawn. There is a light colored house and a small tree in the background. The photo is especially lovely because the depth of field is quite precise on the kitten with a great deal of blur in the foreground in the background.

Two towers rise above the western part of York Minster. The towers have pinnacles above parapets and tall windows in each visible wall. In the foreground is a row flying buttresses supporting the wall, positioned between large windows with tracery.

First I had to email to ask about bookings (normal), then they confirm my bookings without telling me for which days those were (not really normal), then I ask which day it is (reasonable), and they finally tell me those workshops have themes and aren't repeats! (WTF guys!) 🙃
