Not in, but beside the blue badge space. No blue badge. Selfish cunt. I’ve raised the issue with this Lidl store several times (my wife is a blue badge user). They’ve done absolutely nothing, so a shaming on the internet it’ll have to be @yplac.bsky.social #spéirgorm
A blue Audi parked on the hatching intended to demarcate the edges of a blue badge parking space designed to give vehicle occupants more space to enter and exit at the Lidl in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. This car has no blue badge, and is not only taking up the space BESIDE the blue badge spot, it’s also preventing the blue badge space from being used. All in the name of convenience or laziness.

This is to say nothing of how the Lidl shop itself frequently blocks access to the blue badge spaces, the drop kerb or the entrance to the store in order to sell a few bags of compost or some withered potted plants

New species of butterfly for me - the Painted Lady. Snapped in the Eco Meadow in Carrickmacross (which is a fantastic wee place for a stroll). The iPhone camera works a treat for these kinds of shots too. #butterfly #carrickmacross #spéirgorm #wildlife

'I felt a sense of belonging around Glen. He always treated me as an equal, that I was on a par with him. He gave me the freedom to just be. I fell in love with Glen instantly when I was 13, and because at that time a relationship was out of the question – wasn’t allowed to exist – I felt it was just pure love.

'I thought it wasn’t going to become anything. I could still feel it. He was such a hero to me. I did hope that some day I would be old enough to be with him. And we did end up together, and we shared a very special time.

'It was through what I was sharing with Glen that I first heard and discovered the idea of unconditional love.'

This man in his 30s - sweeping into a home and being very impressive and romantic, singing his angsty love songs - will have known what he was doing when he started treating this smitten girl 'as an equal' and inviting her up to his room to play piano with him.

Glen: 'Yeah, I knew Mar for about six years. Me and Mar’s father are good friends. Mar’s father invited me to stay at their house. So I stayed at her house – he gave me a room at their house, and I went over and made some home recordings. And while I was making the home recordings… Mar plays piano, so I got her to play piano on my home recordings, and she was great.'

Interview: When you met her, she was only twelve or thirteen years old?

Glen: 'Thirteen, I think. I’ve known her for a long time. And she’s just really talented, you know? I guess I knew her in a really passive way. She was the daughter of someone I knew. But she played piano and she sang and we were good mates, you know [...]

'But the thing about Mar is, she’s fucking much more mature than me in real life. So for me, there’s nothing unusual about my relationship with Mar in terms of two souls on the earth, if you like.'

'I remember realising then this girl is not only smart but she's somebody who's not afraid to face up to the fact that maybe you're lying to yourself. It was very powerful.'

Ireland has really got into the whole cheap-ass AI thing. I noticed one on that link. I try to call it out when I can (I’m commenting as worfandchewie below)
A generative AI image posting on Instagram from Carrickmacross Chamber of Commerce asking for support for local businessA screen shot of the comments section below the generative AI image.
The conversation goes:

worfandchewie:
You can support local artists and designers (they count as businesses, too) by not using generative Al images in your Instagram posts.
On top of all the other very good reasons.

carrickmacrosschamber @worfandchewie Thanks for your comment. We completely agree local talent is invaluable. As volunteers, we occasionally use ChatGPT as a quick helping hand when time is short.

@carrickmacrosschamber that's not great really, is it? "Do as I say, not as I do". What did ye do before ChatGPT?

The swastika was a sacred symbol across many cultures worldwide before it was co-opted by the Nazis. The Star of David has similarly been co-opted by a genocidal, apartheid nation. Israel’s ruling politicians & members of Israel’s military who’re complicit are the biggest anti semites on the planet
A snippet from the guardian article that reads: ‘It said: "The Star of David is a sacred symbol of Jewish identity; the swastika is the emblem of a genocidal regime responsible for the murder of 6 million Jews. To merge these two symbols is an act of profound malice, desecration, and cruelty. It is antisemitism in its starkest form."’
