Let’s be real they’re using “furry” as a visibly queer subculture as a stand-in for queerness at large. Their goal has been to remove queer people from public life, and they’re testing different vectors to do so. Hence the all caps “MENTALLY ILL,” which is how they want to reclassify all queers

my uneducated guess would be that it was dev time constraints rather than technical constraints. it was probably not high priority to reduce the load times by a second or two once they knew there was no way to reduce them enough to ditch the cutscene entirely.

thank you!! yes, it's a cool game, i love how chaotic it is! it has such a cool style that i really adore, much like so many of Treasure's games. tbh i haven't really played it a ton yet, but i love Mischief Makers & Marina, so i love that she's in RS, & how cute its interpretation of her is haha

DS is a good choice! i think i like the 3DS more bc of how much of a beast it is considering all the features they packed into it (even if many ended up being a bit under-utilized). especially when modded. & ESPECIALLY in the modern era where so much hardware seems as minimal & boring as possible. 😔

tbh the only thing i really miss about it is the ability to play physical game boy cartridges. everything else can be done by my modded 3DS as well as or better. but it was def really cool at the time. i still have fond memories of SM64DS (despite its obvious flaws) & especially WarioWare: Touched!.

i got one shortly after it was launched. it was cool especially for the time. never had friends to pictochat with but i bet it was great if you did. strangely, tho, i've since lost it (somehow, bc i am pretty organized & rarely lose stuff), so i guess in a way it has become mystical to me as well.

In my first year of law school I struggled so much in Legal Writing because I came from journalism and was used to not having to spell out the most utterly obvious stuff that connects thought A to B, which you're taught to do there. But apparently we ALL need to write like that now.
