“Ah, they’ve arrived! Just in time!. Now students, you will be divided down the middle with regards to accommodation. Girls will climb the right, my right, stairs and find the right hallway, where your rooms will be. Boys will do the same up my left. There are a few basement rooms for any of you that desire such a room instead.” I’m left wondering who’d really prefer a room in a basement, but I see two of the kids visibly relax at the suggestion. One is Goran and the other is, I think, a girl, but is more accurately just a nearly obscuring waterfall of straight black hair almost down to the floor, with one narrow slit revealing one side of a very pale face and a green eye.

#SummerOfStories 30 | Oh boy, this is a tough one. A recent example might be this one i wrote recently, though, and is a description of a character introduced late in the story. #WritingCommunity #WriteSky #WritingPrompt

My mind reels from the change in circumstances while my body tries to recover from the exertion. I gulp in huge lungfuls of breath as the woman takes a step forwards, still pointing the flame-headed spear at my chest. I hold up my hands to show that I mean her no harm, not something that might be smart as I still have my talons out.
“Whoa, hey wait a minute! Sister? Who are you looking for?” I ask, but facts are ticking into place at the same time as more details of this person trickle in as well.
The general theme of this woman is orange, like the flame-headed spear. Her armour is an interlaced and overlapping pattern of orange leaves reaching down to below the belly button, and moves with every movement with her body like a second skin, and meets a black leather armour skirt with more metal leaves embedded in it down to mid-thigh. She has pauldrons and knee armour resembling orange pumpkin rinds interlacing with more leaf armour on the arms and legs. Her eyes are a deep glowing orange, as is her long orange hair which does not hang down like hair usually does, but hangs in the hair behind her as if suspended in water. She has what looks like a combination of a circlet and half a helmet sitting on her head, covering half her face with more orange metal while two black bat wings stand up over her head from the circlet. Cobwebs are tattooed to the corners of her eyes, black on her remarkably pale skin. Her orange lips are curled back in a snarl, and I can see a few shallow scars on her face, possibly from blade cuts by how thin they are. Her ears poke out from behind the metal helm plates, pointy at the tips like an elf or something, but further observation has to wait as she advances more towards me.

“What’s your problem all of a sudden?”
Wesley came forward. Owen automatically shuffled backward till he hit a file cabinet.
“You want to know what my problem is? You want to know what I’ve been doing ever since I broke the dam, and now, that you tricked me—manipulated me—into returning the Horn of Evercalf to the huldrefolk—and ever since then, I have been thinking about how small and useless your hands are!” He grabbed one of Owen’s wrists and shook it for emphasis, making the hand flop around.
“Yeah? I got a small dick too, gonna drag me for that while you’re at it?” Owen tugged futilely against Wesley’s grip.
“Can you throw a punch? Can you even open jars? When this massive tower of shit you have infiltrated inevitably comes crumbling down on top of you, how do you intend to dig yourself out with hands like these?”

If Arlo didn't shut his mouth, I was going to climb over the bar, shove my money down his throat, and take the change out of his ass. He was just standing there, chatting away with another customer an infuriatingly easy smile deepening the lines of his aged face while I flailed and failed to get his attention. But it wasn't until the third I'll be with you soon gesture that I hauled myself up on the stool-rung to hurl a copper at him. And that's when my gaze fell upon the tip boxes.
There were four of them, small and wooden, secured to the wall behind the bar, one for each of his regular tavern maids. Including one for his wife, Tabi, who was the cook. Since tips were easily stolen from the tables, it was Arlo's policy to collect them along with payment and place the money in the proper box. And from my elevation, I could see each name painted on the lid above the coin slot.

He sighed and peered at me thought-fully, offering up a sheepish little grin that made his eyes sparkle. "You've bewitched me, Ozanna. When I look at you, I see the afternoon sun in an autumn forest. Feel the warmth of its light on my face and the promise of our life to come-grown from the fertile depths of your eyes, shielded by the fierceness of your spirit, and nourished by the veiled gentleness of your heart." He cradled my face in his hands, resting his forehead against mine, and closed his eyes. "Not a day goes by that I don't recall the scent of your ecstasy, the tender brush of your fingers against my skin ..." He shuddered and nuzzled my nose with his own. "... the taste of my seed on your lips ... I'm possessed by you; haunted by every kiss and lingering glance..."
I tipped my chin and pressed my lips against his, unable to bear more of his words or the intensity of the feelings they stirred in my chest. "I love you," I murmured with a gasp before kissing him again. "I love you I love you I love you.
We clung to each other and savored the moment, my fingers combing through the hair that hung against his cheek while he held me tight.
