Yes to be clear the name of the event was Chicks and Cocktails for COPS hosted by a lovely person for a good cause, my issue is with the chief thinking it’s funny/lighthearted whatevs to say it’s dangerous to be the only man in a room with 60 women.

City manager is ultimately responsible for hiring decisions, whoever is in that role and the deputy roles controls who runs our departments and makes sure what our elected officials are preaching is followed within the departments. It is a VERY important role.

I desperately need more people to realize this. It’s not just PD, there’s a reason why these questions are going to the CM and deputy CM too. People really need to start to realize council isn’t who you should really only be pissed at, we are a city manager led form of government.

If they do not get a good response from PD and the city manager, my eyes continue to be on them and I hope others will too. That’s my opinion here. The mayor cannot micromanage every. single. department in this style of government. If that’s what people want give her the city manager’s salary lol
