Found in my crafting stash today: Three gallon ziplock bags of MILKWEED FLUFF. Was I planning to use it for pillow stuffing or something? And where did I get it from?? What would you do with it?

Deeply saddened to learn of the loss of my dear friend Satan, the Prince of Lies. Though we often disagreed about matters such as the appropriate role of torture in the afterlife, I will most remember how his quick wit and affable nature made our weekly golf outings a ritual. He will be missed.

I stayed at two very different fire lookout towers this month. One somewhat modern and one far more rustic. I enjoyed both! And grateful to the USFS for maintaining these old structures as unique rentals for the public.

A rustic fire lookout tower, which is essentially a small cabin at the top of a 41 ft wooden scaffolding. Several flights of steep stairs lead up to the cabin.

Today out in the pine barrens I saw a bunch of cellophane bees! I'm not sure if they were emerging for the first time today or just hanging in holes, I honestly don't know a ton about these bees. I saw around 20 of them sprinkled throughout the trails in little clusters of 5-10 burrows.
