Steve ended up a positive male role model in a world without many of those. It goes without saying he worked on a million great records and that Shellac was so fun live, but he also, at least from a distance, treated people fairly and honestly — in every sense of those words. 🎈

Even then, these tools seemed prone to stupid mistakes (attached pic showing they haven’t gotten much better), and seeing them as nascent “AI” was a real inoculation against what we have now. I don’t have anything to say about it that hasn’t already been said, but boy is it useless and unnecessary.
